Diesleman
After being so goddamn impressed with all the trailers, multiple previewers last year claiming that it looked exactly like that, exactly like the screenshots and trailers while it was playing on the PS3, i was a big disappointed with this: As for looks, I'm honestly not sure what to make of the V's graphics. I never played a Grand Theft Auto for graphics, but I appreciated how good GTA IV looked in its day. I popped that game into my Xbox 360 again on Wednesday morning. It doesn't look as good as I remembered it. The GTA V I saw running on PS3 hardware at Rockstar looked better. That GTA V, though, didn't look as good to me as the one we see in the trailers. I suggested to the Rockstar reps I was talking to that their trailers are captured off of a PC, off of something that's pumping out better graphics. The version I was watching them play might be an older build, they said, but, no, the trailers are captured from PS3/360-standard machinery. I asked them this again, hours later, to be sure. Yes, they said. The trailers are, as always, running in the game's graphics engine, mixing gameplay and cutscenes, and—their phrase, not mine—it's current-gen footage. Maybe what they capture for trailers is just staged well. I don't know. Or maybe the graphics will look better and better as the game gets closer to release. GTA V is by no means ugly. It looks quite nice. But what I saw in trailers never looked current-gen to me. What I saw played in front of me did. I wish Rockstar would say they're making a next-gen version or a PC version, but the company line is that they have no plans to do so. Take that for what you will. I'd still like a GTA V that looks as sharp as the game does in its trailers. It's not only Kotaku saying this, but also a Danish preview. I'm somewhat of a graphics whore and i really really liked what the trailers showed me, but it seems to be a bit different. So it's kinda weird..Rockstar says that the trailers are captured from PS3/360 standard machinery...yet it doesn't look like that when they showed it. Hmmm. The only thing i was a bit...well..worried about. They make it look better so you want it more. Duh
GR7
Another thing i'm worried about is the return of Hard lock, Soft lock and free aim. It's fine for the single player but I pretty sure this means the multiplayer community will be split in two again which will be bad news for all of us free aim players a year or so down the line. They get to see a new game absolutely filled with new and diverse features, and they spend time complaining about how they want the graphics to look next-gen on current-gen consoles. Almost as bad as IGN, which barely touched on true details and instead spent time complaining that this doesn't look as good as other open world games. I'd like them to point out another open world game that's this big, this detailed and this complex and that looks better.

Improved. I don't mean to sound like a dick or whatever but that's what everyone does in every industry so I don't know why you think R are impervious to it, like out of some sense of morale or something. From now on when you watch a trailer for a game, expect the final product to not look quite as polished, at the best.

M4RK
honestly, i'm not a big fan of playing 3 main characters. To me it feels too complicated and I just wanted 1 main character. But who knows, R* always surprises me and maybe in the end i might like it.
CSM. HB J-DOGG
They have 4 months to touch up the Graphics, as for the mods if it was not for some of them we probably would not have most of the features we have.
douggoud
The thing about the graphics, I don't get why people can't understand the simple fact that something needed to give if they were to make a world as large as they were for LS. There is only so much compromising and improving they can do to other things before something has to be lessened to make room for this world to be as big as it is. I'm not surprised at all that the graphics are as good (or worse) as they were in IV. What the hell did you guys expect? You wanted a better looking game AND a larger world? Do you know how difficult that would be on the current gen? In the end, we'll all love the game, why we have to complain about something like the graphics (and the difference, to me is so minuet), is beyond me. Is it really that bad? Spider-Vice
I know why you guys are whining about the graphics, they LOOK less detailed especially on the texture department but you guys have to remember that this has WAY more effects than GTA IV did. GTA IV didn't really have heavy graphical processing, GTA V seems to have real time reflections on the water, wave physics, depth of field, volumetric clouds, which take a lot of memory. Things have to be sacrificed when they're limited and I think it STILL looks better than GTA IV, I'm not whining, I think the graphics are pretty good. All the flaws will probably be fixed on the PC version as they can basically do what they want. 512 MB of RAM and a weaker CPU, don't expect miracles off the consoles. The games with better graphics aren't open world and don't have as much AI to process. This is what I expected and it's very good. GarrowsKai
The only gripe I have is the thing about pressing the down button to jump to multiplayer, because I don;t want to somehow accidentally press it and it screw up what I'm doing (like the damn six axis tutorial option on the phone in IV, teleporting me to the airport)!! But that would be 50% my fault for being clumsy anyway. Other than that, and that is a very minor gripe, I have nothing to complain about, it looks amazing and I am confident it will be Edited May 2, 2013 by GarrowsKai
SlappyPwnsAss
R* NEVER disappoints in terms of graphics. They will look really good, even if they dont look as good as in the trailers. Just like GTA 4. It looked WWWAAAAYYY better in the trailers, but when i first played it i was amazed by how good it looked so just STFU and let R* do their thing. Gezim
From how big they say the map is, I'm kinda disappointed that they didn't just recreate San Andreas as a whole state. I'm sure the map is just going to have one big major city right? And then some small ones. I'm gonna miss visiting San Fierro and LV.
DontSnitch
Map size is f*cking pathetic "3.5x the size of Red Dead" that's sounds sh*t to me not surprised anyway, the Mapping LS thread already showed how small the map was gonna be, they even left famous gang hotspots like Baldwin Village and Watts out of the old III era Los Santos even the size of Inglewood and Compton in San Andreas was pathetic especially considering the whole game was about gang life, now it looks like Compton is one street long and all those other areas are as well. Other than that it looks like this is gonna be the best thing to be created on earth since Jesus popped out of Mary.
