matt_jada Posted May 2, 2013 Share Posted May 2, 2013 Ive always played every gta pretending that its a whole new place/city which has been built somewhere in the middle of the ocean and not part of the USA rather than imagine it to actually be LA or new york its Los santos, a new world altogether. So for me, the fact they have just confirmed it to be an island, thats fking brilliant news to me, wooooo. Anyone else think this way when they play gta, or is it just me? It would be kind of weird if it were landlocked because they would have to either implement some kind of invisible wall to stop helicopters and planes from flying beyond the landlocked boundries or endless desert/mountains which would seriously limit the sense of freedom. Still gonna be interesting to see how they will limit you under water since the O2 gauge wont limit you with your ability to put your head above water and stuff. How did they do it in San Andreas? Death2Drugs Posted May 2, 2013 Share Posted May 2, 2013 Definitely rooting for something else, and perhaps Rockstar might have been trying to do the endless terrain, but I don't think there's any way they can do that at this time without it looking like crap. Maybe on next-gen, but not right now. Hopefully Rockstar makes it believable. Liberty City looked kinda awkward just being as it is itself. GTA 3 was semi-landlocked, Vice City was somewhat believable since it seemed tropical, and San Andreas did have some optical illusions to make it look somewhat believable.
