    • No, I've seen enough of the map and want to explore the rest myself

The Scottish Guy

Seeing as somebody made a poll about people NOT reading the previews so as not to have anything spoiled, I thought I'd construct this to get your thoughts.

I've made no secret in the past about not wanting too much revealed before I have the game in my console, controller in hand, ready to experience everything for the first time myself. But we are being given so many shots of the city and countryside from such vast viewpoints. I know the map is going to be huge, but I feel like I've seen most of the map already.

That screen released today of the nightshot looking at the Vinewood sign and the beach screen were something I couldn't wait to see when grabbing a plane and seeing for the first time when actually playing the game, now I feel like it's been completely spoiled for me.

And I know what you're going to say...."dude, it's your choice to look at the screens etc". Well I say this to you.Do you realise how incredibly difficult it would be to resist the temptation of looking at the them, knowing they're out there? I tried my best not to look at todays ones, but just couldn't do it.

So I just want to say: Excellent and beautiful stuff Rockstar, but please, let us discover and explore the rest of the map for the first time ourselves when we play this masterpiece of yours.

They aren't forcing you to look. If you don't wanna see/read new stuff then don't. They will release it for those who do want it.

So because you don't want anymore we should all go without? no one is forcing you to look and if you can't resist well that's your problem.

Honestly I do feel the same way in a sense, and my mental image of the map seems quite small all of a sudden. But then I remember that the size of the map: GTAIV + SA + RDR. If IV roughly accounts for the size of LS then we have a countryside greater than the sizes of RDR and SA out there. There is no way we have seen close to the whole countryside. Besides, where does the desert fit into all this? I'm pretty sure the desert is impossible to place right now unlike the mountains/alamo sea.

Honest Bill

It won't spoil it for you. You're being a tad melodramatic. Screens can never do justice to the actual experience you'll get. Just being able to freely move the camera and gawk for as long as you want is infinitely better. I guarantee you that when you lay it you won't be thinking "Oh man this beach sucks because i've already seen it."

Besides, as someone else mentioned, you are just trying to demand that Rockstar release less info to everybody else so that you don't have to be responsible for your own self-control.

Basically if you don't like what you see, you'll just have to stop looking won't you...

Again, somebody else who didn't read my post.

Do you honestly want to see every inch of the map before actually playing the game and exploring it for yourself? I will never understand you people.

Screenshots are nothing compared to actually playing the game.

They are a still image, you'll be moving. You'll see a lot more than in just a screenie.

That's the reason why I decided that I won't read todays previews. They spoil too much. And there's no better feeling when you insert a disc with a game you know nothing about but you know it's gonna rock.

you know what was great about SA? i knew the map sooo good and when gta iv came out i tried to explore it and learn every corner of the city but LC was too f*cking detailed and i still dont know how to drive fast from point a to point b without the map and gps and i think it will be the same with gta v so i dont mind many screens in fact im happy that i can already explore and learn something about the map trough the screens

I'm not asking them not to release anymore info, I'm not even asking them not to release anymore screens. I'm simply asking them to cease with the vast shots of the map as I want the rest left for exploration.

I really wish some of you would read my post properly.

Revolution-XW

The thing is that there's people who do want to see a lot more.

But you're right, at times it does feel like we know the locations by looking but I believe the map is just too big, therefore imo its all good so far.

haha, yeah, that's why I not even try to ignore the screens/info.

Back in 2008, I was even watching gameplay footage of IV a couple of days before release. But even this couldn't do any harm to my IV experience.

What I'm trying to say is, that it is always a very unique experience to try out an all-new GTA, no matter how many screens or videos you watch before release.

I did read your post. But that's still what your asking them to do, change their planned screenshots to please you. some of us want to see more of those shots, see what i'm saying?

Anyway as i said, it is highly unlikely that your experience of the game will be diminished at all. There are still plenty of areas they haven't shown think of how big they said the map is in comparison to what we've seen.. There will be some big surprises for you. And that which you've already seen will still delight you when you look at it in real-time.

I think the problem with 'people not reading' the OP is that they actually do and are simply telling you that you really just shouldn't look. If you really can't refrain from opening threads with screenshots, etc. in them, just stop visiting GTAForums.com or at least the GTA V section. If you really feel that strongly about it, that's something you should just do.

I for one love the peeks we're getting at the game world. As a regular visitor of the Mapping Los Santos thread (mapping the game is like a game in itself) I've noticed we're really only seeing a fraction of the game world. Half of Franklin's trailer takes place on two streets, streets we've already seen in previous trailers and screenshots.

Yeah... The same exact hills and mountains they've already shown. It's a little worrying. I hope they have a Los Santos or San Andreas state forest or something with a hiking trail or something. Would be awesome to have the peds interacting in the woods and sh*t.

Most of the shots are in exactly the same place, just different angles. They'll be plenty to see come release and until then i'd like to get a better taste of what's to come.
