Hasn't anyone ever played a GTA game before. The first premise is that you get to play forever. So characters dieing.. not gonna happen.

 

What we probably will get is Michael making it trough his crisis, either divorcing and deciding to have a fresh start, or somehow making up with the family, but seeing what they're like in the latest trailer. I don't see that happening. His kids must learn to live on their own and his wife... well she might just as well die during the story.

 

Trevor will probably stay crazy like he is, after all Rockstar want's us to have a crazy character after the main story is done.

 

And Franklin will probably stay in the hood, sort of like CJ, having income from assets away, but still living primarily back where he started. In the meantime he'll clean up the place, kill some dealers and make it a bit safer by being the man in charge even though he never really wanted to be gang leader.

But since we have multiple protagonists it is an option to kill of one. R* already shown they are not afraid to let the protagonist die RDR I don't think its likely since GTAV seems more lighthearted to me

Yeah, but that was completely different, they had one character who is the replaced by his son. Right here, we have three completely different characters that can't be replaced, they would just be unavailable forever. And since they bothered to make it a three-character game, there's no way they'll just piss on that and let two or even one die.

 

Maybe in some future title when we get used to having more characters, but not in the first one.
