EvilFuture
Don't know if you have seen this yet, but for all the people who think that the trailers are made entirely of "cutscene" footage, here's something I seen on http://www.gtav.net on the trailer screenshot section Update: We're seeing a lot of people across the internet say that these trailers are made up entirely of cut-scene footage. Not true! Rockstar have assured us that they do indeed feature game play footage (of course, some scenes are captured and edited using in-game detachable cameras [ similar to the video editor in IV PC]). So there you go, to the non believers THESE ARE IN GAME GRAPHICS. Not next gen, not touched up cutscenes, but gameplay graphics. September 17th, here we come! JonRenemy
It doesn't matter what people think, Rockstar have never used pre-rendered animations. Anything we see is simply a non-playable bit of the game. This is very obvious. I mean we all own GTA IV and (mostly) Red Dead Redemption so there really should be no doubt.... any doubters are simply suffering daddy issues. Grand Theft Savage
I'm not doubting the graphics. That's current gen right there. But I'm certain that what we saw were cutscenes or created scenes for the trailer. The game won't look like that.
TheGodDamnMaster
I don't remember anyone saying the trailers were completely cutscenes. Parts that are gameplay (at least from what I can observe). Michael -First scene with the guy running along the boardwalk -Car pulling into the driveway -Jimmy and Michael riding bikes -His wife playing tennis -Car cruising down the road in front of the Vinewood sign -Truck smashing the security van -Back door explosion on the van -Michael beating up those first 2 guys -Michael swinging the golf club -Michael shooting at the other helicopters -Sniper rifle zoom -Airport runway chase Franklin -Peds walking down the sidewalk -People at the car dealership -Firefight -Franklin walking away the apartment building -Purple-shirt gangster shooting his AK -Car chase -Gangster firing his gun -Running from the cop -Sanchez chase -Franklin shooting that purple-shirt gangster -Lamar and Franklin running from the helicopter spotlight -SUV fleeing from the helicopter Trevor -Trucks driving in Sandy Shores -Trevor driving that red vehicle -Trevor flying the plane -Trevor beating-down those guys -Jacking the black car -Shooting at the Lost truck -Carrying the gas canister -Helicopter in downtown Los Santos -Ramming the sedan into the train Edited May 2, 2013 by whatsstrength Intel Core i9-9900k | Seasonic FOCUS Plus 750W | 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHzMSI GeForce RTX2070 | WD Blue 1TB HDD | Samsung 950 PRO M.2 512GBAntec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower | MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon AC
woggleman
Much of it might be the cinematic view of gameplay.
Plainview
What I'm curious of, is are the going to use the same type of death animations from MaxPayne. Not the camera zooming in on the bodies, but the way the bodies fall naturally and the blood and bullet wounds. Graphically, as far as animations and lighting, it reminds me quite a lot of MP3, which I thought was a fantastic looking game. The lighting in this however, looks even more amazing. The game won't look like that. What has given anyone this impression? In GTA IV every scene we saw in trailers ended up in the game.. more or less. The cutscenes are made from real-time rendering so the cutscenes don't look weightier in any way than the actual game. This time, obviously, things just look better than before. R* has never lied when it comes to trailers. Screenshots, on the other hand...

bigbleezy
Until we get to play the game or see actual gameplay footage, I would call a lot of what we've seen cut scene footage. The only footage I've seen and am convinced is gameplay footage is the police chase in Franklin's trailer. I could see Rockstar actually making their traiilers that way but I'm more convinced the scenes are scripted in lieu of a better term. If the trailers are 100% gameplay though, that would be pretty awesome. Dice did the same thing with Battlefield and its DLC trailers and its comparable to this. Except we haven't played V yet. B1T8
i'm pretty sure V will have the same exact graphics as RDR had with a few new textures like water and fire and stuff
JonRenemy
is NOONE understanding this??!!! Cutscenes in GTA *ARE* gameplay. It's just not from the perspective that you play from. There is honestly no other way to explain it. GTA cutscenes are gameplay which you cannot control, hence EVERYTHING you see in trailers is gameplay, but it is CUTSCENE GAMEPLAY.
