Homemade Dynamite
I hope we get a better soundtrack in this game with more recognizable songs. GTA IV's soundtrack suffered from having way too many underground/garage songs that weren't even good to listen to. Vice City is widely considered to have the best soundtrack of all time because it's filled to the brim with recognizable songs that people actually enjoy. They should look to that as an example of how to make a good soundtrack, not GTA IV.
ed72o
Yes! Thank you! Someone finally understands that the radio stations on IV sucked (except for the talk shows)

Ash_735
Actually, Vice City and San Andreas benefit from being set in the past, Rockstar KNOW what went on to become a classic, what alotted slots were used in average, etc, that's why VC and SA (as well as VCS) had overall better branding and song choices because the focus was tighter. Modern day is more diffiult, you have a lot of crap on the radio, and there's also many underground stuff trying to get out there to. I think GTA IV did well, but a lot of stations were improved in TLAD or TBOGT, such as Radio Broker, Liberty Rock Radio and K109, I prefer the DLC choices on those stations over the GTA IV ones. iNero
there were only 3 songs I liked in IV and which I remember best songs in the game.
ed72o
Why didn't R* allow us to listen to the music on our consoles? If they did then it wouldn't matter as much if the music sucked

It also had an MP3 player on the phone which was the menu. so could even listen to it while on streets

Hell, GTA3, VC and SA on the Xbox had this feature! It's perfectly possible, there is no technical reason it CAN'T be added.

Please do your research. The XBOX versions of GTA3, Vice City and san Andreas had this feature. Hell, even the PSP Versions of Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories had a Custom Tracks feature (the method was very boring though). And again, game type doesn't matter, it's a real simple thing to include, it's basically having the game play audio files from one place instead of the other, there is no increase in load, it just has to be coded in to that. There is NO technical reason why it can't be done, call it lazy, or call it holding back a feature for the PC version, whatever.

Miss Darko
It sounds to me so far like we're getting a pretty decent soundtrack for the radio (music in the trailers are almost always also on the ingame radio), lots of classics with a unique feel. Ash_735
GTA3 on xbox doesnt have this option... ...Yes it does, if you're just going to repeat that, then you're clearly missing something. Are you playing the game on the Xbox 360 by any chance? That's one of the problems the game has with the console, BUT it will still show it as an extra station slot. Maybe you're easily confused? GTA3 - CD Player Vice City - Tape Deck That's what they're called in the Xbox versions.

Homemade Dynamite
Also, seeing as how LA is not only the film capital of the world but the music capital as well, there is no excuse for them to fill the entire soundtrack with underground/garage sh*t. Give us songs that we actually recognize please.

iNero
Underground DnB or Dubstep or Drumstep would be better imo. Most mainstream stuff is annoying atm. At keast i hope there is actually Dubstep and DnB @Ash Then post it...

FINE, also, just to point out, another GTA Wikia only lists San Andreas on Xbox as having Custom Tracks, the English is butchered, so yeah, probably the same bullsh*t you read, anyway... http://www.gamechronicles.com/reviews/xbox...3vice/combo.htm http://games.slashdot.org/story/03/10/16/1...e-pack-explored edit: Hey, here's some VIDEO proof to... from 11 seconds onwards. StarFyer
This is my biggest concern about the game. It looks like R* has addressed most of the issues that I and a lot of people had with IV. If the few songs we've heard so far are any indication, it seems that V will have much better music. R* really needs to knock it out the park with this soundtrack. What's the difference? I have no idea what u want from me tbh What's the difference between those fight/sport/racing games and open world games? you're implying open world games can't play music loaded from the console but those games can... my question is, why you think GTA can't have this option? not logical. ed72o
I don't see any reason why R* shouldn't add custom soundtrack for consoles But I doubt they will. Why? I don't know
Cutter De Blanc
RDR had the custom soundtrack ability. Admittedly it kind of sucked, mainly because the XMB plays the songs too loud, but the feature is there. They should have an Independence FM for consoles. That being said, so far the actual soundtrack seems great.

The Pizza Delivery Guy
GTA IV's soundtrack suffered from having way too many underground/garage songs that weren't even good to listen to. Sorry, but I can't accept this. You see, all of the underground tracks is what MAKES IV mamorable. If R* only used songs that are really popular and known now, then when all that is forgotten 6 months after the release the soundtrack will be stale. VC and SA had great soundtracks because of the classics people will remember for a long time. IV's have a lot of songs I can remember. It got even better in EFLC.
