Last week I would tell you that I couldn't care less about Franklin, and that we've seen characters like him before, but I keep watching this trailer, and I am liking him as a character more and more. I like Lamar, too. Hopefully he will act as a big-brother to Franklin in the story, so that way he can be of importance to the game. Oh, and there is Chop! As for the topic, Franklin has been my favorite since day one, and I have watched his trailer more times than the others, and I have watched them a lot. He doesn't remind me of CJ that much anyway; I like him better than CJ. Yea he should be better it will be a thrill to just walk around the ghetto and see what happens haha. If you've watched his trailer, you'd know that that isn't the case. In fact, half the trailer was about him going on about how he basically wanted out, or how stupid the gang sh*t was. And saying he's like CJ is a tad on the racist side, because, lets be honest, CJ wanted back into the gang scene after getting out. Franklin just wants out (whether or not he'll want back in at some point in the story has yet to be seen obviously). Because, other than being in a gang, they really aren't as similar as people think they are. Regardless of that, I'm going to love playing as all 3 of them. Trevor because (I'm guessing) the gasoline thing will be just his little thing to do, and Micheal and Franklin, probably won't be able to do it (though I may be wrong). And he'll probably have easier access to planes and military sh*t. Franklin, from what I've seen, will most likely have more access to more cars than Micheal and Trevor, might even have access to backup from his "gang", though I suspect that won't be the case because of what I said earlier, he wants out, and I'm sure his gang isn't too pleased about that. And Micheal probably has some sort of thing that Trevor and Franklin don't (I can't think of it at the moment). Either way, it's gonna be fun, we all know that. There are no "ballas" or "grove street og's" anymore. This has been confirmed for over 6 months now. There is very little of anything relating to the PS2 games in GTA V. This is a complete and total re-invention of Los Santos. Lol where was this confirmed??? LMFAO? In the GI preview. Or did you not read it? They were referring to specific characters, not gangs, factions, brands or businesses that are meant to transcend the entire GTA universe. I mean, already its confirmed that one faction from GTA: San Andreas is returning: http://www.epsilonprogram.com/ Gangs are factions that go farther beyond just specific characters. In fact, nobody in GTA V might have any idea who CJ is but it is completely plausible for them to be Grove street members and/or aware of grove st as a gang. Why? Just because I am black I don't let that dictate who's my favorite in a game. If that was the case, in Tekken 3, Eddy would be my favorite character instead of Hworang. Some people they HAVE to gravitate toward someone who's the same race as they are. But that's another topic for another day. I can already tell that Franklin is a lot more intelligent than people think. If people cannot already see it in his trailer, then his intellect will be revealed throughout his story and definitely during his conversations with Michael. He seems more less classy than you'd expect , Some time he can get a little angry and.. You know what he's a damn fine gentleman, I for one love franklin though, maybe that's because GTA SA was the first gta game i actually got into, I did play the past ones before that starting with 2 but mind you i never beat any of them, i didn't even beat SA until 2 years ago, But i bought that game 3 times on ps2 and once on pc, So yeah i also can't wait to use franklin because i like how he doesn't want to be a gangbanger anymore Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Every time Franklin is with another member of his supposed gang, they're chastising him about not being a good enough gangbanger. Whether it's Lamar and his girl at the very beginning, or towards the end where Lamar's friend says he has "no respect." Franklin is less of a gangbanger and more a man living in the hood with friends who are gangbangers. He clearly starts in a gang, but he won't be in it for long. Franklin is undoubtedly intelligent, ambitious, and I like that he is a gangbanger looking for something more, but he is easily the least charismatic of the three protags from what little we've seen so far. A "stick in the mud" describes him perfectly. I'd love to see Franklin laugh or crack a smile ffs.
