walkingsickness Posted May 1, 2013 Share Posted May 1, 2013 Mafias and Gangs are two different things, Mafias HAD to have new names simply because of the Era change and there are different people the mafia was started/ran by. Gangs simply "Families & Ballas" aren't real peoples names, not to mention they're just R*'s version of Bloods & Crips so theres really no sense in fixing something that isn't broken. Then why werent the Diablos and the Southside Hoods in IV? kuz unlike west coast, the gangs in NYC is little less defined. SMM, DDP, Trintarios, Netas, are not as publicly knows as just crips and bloods. Although SMM (sex money murder) is part of the UBN (United Blood Nation), not everyone knows that. So not having those gangs from that era was irrelevant to this era. The thing is, SMM in GTA 4 wear blue clothes as well. IDK if it's Rockstar's take on realism or they're reminding us of the South Side Hoods. I dont think that was SMM. Just something that R* made up but was close enough to give a rep to it. The thing is when you talk about LA you are talking about everything associated with LA....lowriders, fast cars, hills, beaches, outdoor gyms, weed, gangs. brian. Posted May 1, 2013 Share Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) grove and ballas are the GTA universe (the one that seems to span all generations or "eras" of iteration) version of crips and bloods. Add yellow to blue and you get green crips. add red to blue and you get purple bloods. Basically. Those are the crips and bloods of Los Santos, the GSF and the Ballas. To complain about it (or single details like this) misses the whole point of iteration and what makes each new gta in an old place so special in my opinion. Think a little outside of the boxed game itself, it is awesome to see the same ideas grow and evolve. I am glad they didn't go with "real" crip blood colors etc. It would be like replacing sprunk with sprite... Would lose the lore. Edited May 1, 2013 by brian.
