OmegaEvolution
It's an awkward time for every developer who releases games the year a new console comes out. Im 100% certain Rockstar have their GTAV next gen plans signed, sealed and ready to deploy when the time is right.
UberVIIX
I didn't read through every comment, so sorry if already stated... Look at it this way, at least they have much more experience on ps3 hardware. There is a good possibility if they were making it on the ps4, new hardware, there would be a greater chance of bugs/glitches, plus would probably set the release date back by at the very least six more months... edit: And they know many more scores of people will have the ps3 at the end of its life cycle than will be purchasing the ps4 right at its launch. Matt21
Sony and Microsoft will both most likely make the PS4 and Xbox 720 able to play games from the previous generation of consoles, so you probably won't have to worry about switching between consoles. Braindawg
I couldn't wait any more for them to covert everything to PS4/new XBOX format. Plus, we know nothing about the new Xbox yet anyway... It'd be ages before V would be released. It looks good, fun, and just plain awesome being current gen. And I can't wait to get my hands on it in 3 and a half months. Y'all gotta stop moaning and be greatful Rockstar didnt drop their best frenchise yet.
stee_vo
Next gen game? I am TBH.I don't like the game being released just before the next gen consoles because of the way i have to switch between old and new consoles. Please write what you think. Get a PC and don't worry about it. ... Are you for real?
Marlowe.
I, for one, am glad I won't have to fork out upwards to $800 for a new console to play one game. Plus, this should keep me busy for a year or so until the new consoles lower in price. There couldn't be a more perfect time to release GTA V. Spider-Vice
No, because right now is the peak of the current-gen consoles. Where more people have them and where developers know all they can about them. Druffmaul
No, I don't care that it's not next gen. Because if it was, it wouldn't be coming out in about 5 months. It would still be a long, long way away. Because next gen dev kits haven't been available for very long.

gta5freemode4eva
Instead of going on and on and just mumbling random sh*t over and over I'll just get to the point and I'll answer your question which was "Are you frustrated at GTA not being a Next-Gen Game" and my answer is and will be an easy single answer which cuts straight to the point and hits the hammer right on the head with no fuss or mess or mucking about and by doing this you will indeed find out my opinion and thoughts as to whether I am or am not "frustrated at GTA V not being a Next-gen game" and my answer is
Versous
If it's on PC later on in 2014, there's a good chance that it will be ported to the Playstation 4 because as they mentioned a 1000 times, The PS4 has a PC architecture and therefore games are easier to port and develop, mark my words! rdfdsv
Hell no. I am glad its on current gen. Not only because I wont be getting a next gen console until late next year but also because now that R* knows alot about current gen consoles and have upgraded their engine, they will take the current gen consoles to a limit. But i don't wanna wait 7 years for a new GTA If V turns out to be what we are expecting it to be, those 7 years will fly by.

sublimelabs
Not really, or at least first and foremost. I definitely think Rockstar's gonna release PC and next-gen ports in 2014. So until that time comes I'll enjoy the game and appreciate what Rockstar has managed to squeeze out of age-old hardware. Then I'll double-dip for the enhanced version with better textures, anti-aliasing, and draw distance.

yakprince
Could either wait until its available to buy to play on your new console (PS4), or hope and pray that xbox 360 has backwards compatibility locally versus having to rebuy it and download it through a marketplace. Lucky32
There isn't much point of next-gen consoles. V will be released before them, so whats the point? The only advantage would be extra features. Even then, it would need quite a bit to justify it. Just doesn't seem like a smart move to me. The x-box, ps3, and soon after PC versions will do just fine. Maggot899
What excites me is that there won't be a GTA as a launch title for next-gen. Think about it this way, many people complain about GTA IV being boring or just sucking and some of the faults were because they didn't know how to use the technology. Think of all the other games they've made since IV which have given them a lot experience with the current technology and now they know exactly how to use it and what they can pull off. 4 to 7 years in the future when another GTA comes along, they will have already developed quite a few games on the next-gen consoles and once again they will know how to use the console to the best of its ability. WHICH MEANS that when we finally get another GTA on the next-gen, it will be completely insane because they will know how to do so much with the new consoles and we get the benefits of that. I<3GTAV
I'll still probably have my 360 for 2-4 years after next gens released, and even then I can just buy GTA V for next gen if they make it.

Johan
No, their next game will be 10x better and it'll be on the next gen consoles. And I won't have to wait 2 more months or so just to play V, bad enough we're waiting until September.
AtomicPunk
Well, I've said this before, that I cannot understand why console makers don't have the biggest studios creating the first wave of games for next gen so that they can maximize sales. I would buy a PS4 if a new GTA or RDR was headlining. If there's a GTA V for PS4, and it has better graphics, then I may consider it. The console makers need to time everything right with developers so that they can have the games that people want so the systems will sell. It's disorganized. That's what you think. You've got now knowledge at all. If GTA V was released immediately on the PS4 and NOT on the current gen, Rockstar wouldn't make sh*t. Current Gen will make them billionaires in less than six months. But it would be a good idea to port it to PS4 after six/twelve months after PS4 releases, first year of release, not many people are going to buy it. Look sweet heart, It would be a choice for people; Buy it on current gen, or buy it on next gen--R* would still make their money. You don't know anything, obviously. You're one of them 'know nothing-know-it-alls'. I'm beginning to think you have a very low IQ, more and more with every post you make. I guarantee you aren't qualified to say anything about analytical theories. Your opinions aren't facts, sunshine.

Dick Valor
I am not the slightest. It means I don't have to fork out $1000 for a PS4. This. Also, V will give my PS3 collection some much needed closure... it would just feel incomplete with only one GTA (IV). V will be the current gen's swan song and, frankly, the first games of a new generation tend to suck compared with the last games of the old generation. I have no intention of rushing to get a PS4 when it is the most overpriced and has a weak library of games. I'll give it 2-3 years to mature. Jack1505
Part of me would like to see next gen versions of the game in all its glory - but I'd rather get a little more (or a lot more) value on this gen first, whats more all my friends have a current gen console, and it will be years before I can say the same about my friends all having next gen.I for one am happy playing GTA5 on PS3/PC now and waiting for next gen to mature a little before GTA hits them... Also I dont want to be forced to pay upto £450 just to play GTA5, even though I bought a PS3 just for GTA4. In Rockstars interest the next gen install base will be comparativly tiny, given GTA4 was the most expensive game ever made, I'm sure GTA5 pushes that figure even higher, they need their money! I wouldnt be suprised if GTA5 was ported to PC 6 months after console release, with PS4+720 versions as others on here have said Edited May 3, 2013 by Jack1505
