I was talking with my friend a few days ago when he brought up a point that got me thinking. We all know what Franklin is going for, little does he know he is staring his future in the face which is Michael. But where is Michael going?

 

Michael already got to the top, money, wife, children and the fact he got out alive. Now as the years have gone by, Michael has gotten bored and miserable with his life. So he decides to start doing jobs again, because he thinks the money will fix a lot of things and the heists will heat his life up again. But I feel later he is going to realize that the money isn't going to help him, it never did before and it won't help now.

 

I think he is going to find that there is something else he wants but doesn't quite know what it is and how to get it. He has already been to the top but now he is left with the need for something else, something going in a different direction other than the top.

 

What do you guys think? I for one feel Michael is going to have a good storyline because it faces the fears of many men, the mortality of his own being, purpose and existence.

It's Rockstar. There IS more to it than that. You can tell by Michael's trailer and his way of speaking when he tells his therapist what he wants. The stammering and joy when he declares he "wants the other things, too".

 

Besides, look at RDR. LA Noire. Max Payne 3. Rockstar made a damn good effort in terms of character emotion in those games, and they aren't going to stop now. Especially not with their biggest franchise.

Idk about him being an egotistical and selfish.. whats wrong with doing what makes you happy? Its not like he doesnt care about his family, he probably changed his ways because of them in the first place but he just feels incomplete without doing what he does best.

 

I doubt he will be back in "that line of work" because of selfish reasons, I think there will be more to it. Kinda like FIB forcing him to do the jobs or something like that.

I doubt the story will go nowhere, that would make it utter crap, and Rockstar are not about that kind of crap. And nobody is saying he deserves anything, he is a story, that's what this is. Should any of the murdering GTA protagonist deserve anything if it were real life? In my opinion not really, but it is a story so they do deserve something because there is a theme and a cause. It is to entertain us with a deeper meaning and a moral understanding all while disguised as a crime drama. I couldn't relate to Niko if he were real, but as a story I can, I can also root him on in his conflicts.

That seems like a plausible outcome I feel will come. Franklin is going to tell himself that he won't make the same mistakes but ultimately he will.
