At the end of Michael's trailer, we see cop cars flipping on the runway:

 

At first I was confused why but I believe this is the result of the thrust produced by the large plane's jet engines. Perhaps you'll have to avoid getting too close yourself.

 

 

 

I'm hoping the jet engines have these sorts of effects in real gameplay. An npc standing behind a fighter jet engine gets set on fire & blown away etc.

That would be hilarious, I wouldn't rule it out.

Not necessarily. I mean, how often do we have car chases during cutscenes in GTA? I actually think it's more likely that it's gameplay with a cinematic perspective (remember, R* does this often in their trailers as well: cutscene footage mixed with gameplay footage from a cinematic angle)

Well, there's already a screenshot of Trevor flying a similarly sized airplane, so I wouldn't be surprised at this point.

The fact that it's so difficult to tell what is & isn't gameplay, really bodes well.

 

I noticed the small windows on the plane certainly didn't look transparent, so that one probably doesn't have an interior.

It was a guess.

In my mind, there will be no wind displacement6 from any engines. The cars are just flipping because of physics where they came out of the back of the plane while the plane was going fast. Nothing more.

What do you mean "they came out of the back of the plane"? Do you mean those police cars were in the plane? Because that's a passenger plane (airline called Herler), not a cargo plane. Plus you can see three police cars on the runway as the plane is coming in to land.

That Top Gear video shows just how strong jet engines are. However, one has to wonder just effective they would be against a cop car driving towards the engines. Not only would a more aerodynamic side be facing the engines, but the cop cars would probably have a lot of forward inertia.

True & the plane is landing, so it should be using reverse thrust. Unless it's trying to take off again.

 

They could just be taking liberties with the physics. As realistic as GTA IV was, there were a few things that really only happen in the movies.

Looks like a ridiculously hard mission what with all that wind turbulance. Maybe it was a glimpse of the final mission? Jump from the car onto the landing gear so you go up with the plane to escape, just a wild speculative guess
