Happyness
So, I thought about this. Rockstar knows each has a favorite character, what if we get the ability to choose who we start with? I mean... That'd be awesome on Rockstar's behalf, to be honest, I want to begin playing as Franklin, I wouldn't like it if they forced us to begin as Michael or Trevor.. Your thoughts? Liberty2k7
I think we'll start as michael, then in the first or second mission we'll go and see Trevor and he'll be unlocked and then on that mission where franklin and Lamar are lookin for berto beach house, we'll unlock franklin. Not sure though but I think rock star will introduce Michael then integrate the other two, based on the first trailer etc. One of the main storylines is about Michael relocating to los Santos so this would make sense. I could be wrong though!!
Happyness
I'd hate Rockstar if they force me to play like 10 missions to unlock Franklin, it's dumb. That's just me, yo.
ReconzVenture
I think Rockstar will let you choose who you start off as. All 3 will be unlocked and there will be a mission when they all meet and come together. This mission however will only be unlocked once you've completed the first 5-10 missions for each character. My two shillings.
Dick Justice
I can see the game starting us off as Michael doing tutorial-esque missions around the house (akin to Bonnie's missions in RDR). One of them will be biking down to the beach with Jimmy, where you'll meet Franklin and be introduced to the idea of character switching; another you'll drive out to Blaine County to catch up with your old friend Trevor... I don't know, I'm sure Rockstar have figured out a good story-orientated way to begin the game. There's not much point saying, "I don't want to play as Michael to start," or whatever because you're going to have to do his specific missions anyway if you want to keep moving the story forward. Doesn't matter how much you love Franklin, you'll still be Trevor a lot of the time, and the other way around.
AuSsIeThUnDeR36
I think we will have to do the first mission as Michael, hey it's the intro to gta v, you'll have to complete it, nice easy tutorial style mission, then once that's done then you can change to whoever you want. It would be weird to start gta v with a screen asking who do you want to start as? Too arcade like. No I would like just a black screen then suddenly the game bounces and starts

Red XIII
I wouldn't like it if they forced us to begin as Michael or Trevor.. Did you also not like it when rockstar 'forced' you to use niko for the whole of GTAIV? Are rockstar forcing you to play the game?
Happyness
Your argument is invalid. Back then there were no three characters. What are you trying to do? Seems to me that you're just here to post useless stuff.
Nori Yaro
It might be with cities and you play with different character in different city. I noticed how Michael is in the city, Franklin in the ghetto and Trevor in the outskirts/desert.
Shadewell
The problem with the "5 missions until you get the second character" is that it is f*ckin annoying if you reinstall the game for free roam and have to play 10 missions until you have all opportunities... It was already annoying to play two missions until you get the cellphone to enter multiplayer in GTA4!
Blood_Money
Franklin most likely if possible.
poklane
I'm 99% sure we start with Michael and meet Trevor and Franklin later.

Everyone, myself included, will have to get used to playing as all three whenever we have to. There will be certain missions where we have to play as whoever they make us. There will be missions where we can play as two but not all. Missions where we can choose. We just have to get used to it. Although in free-roam, we're free to be as biased as we want to be! Bmike904
I think you will start inside Michael's mansion. I thought GI confirmed this actually.

Happyness
You people misunderstood me! I am not saying that I don't want to play with the other protags, just stated that it would be actually cool to choose the character we play with.
Mcquiz
It doesn't matter too much I think. I would prefer to start it as Franklin in the ghetto, then Trevor and then Michael. Kinda showing the perspective between the enviroment where they live.
