I know it was said that they will have their own sidemissions.

 

But what about side- storylines. In Franklins Trailer it looked like he did stuff with his dudes most of the time. So are there storylines seperatly from the heist stuff which are character exclusiv? I mean apart from the mainstory.

Well I always had the impression that this was the case. All three characters have their own subplots, which tie into the overall main plot which involves all three. I don't think they're completely separate, though. One character might get involved with another character's subplot at some point, like helping them with a problem related to another character's story. And I think that as the story goes on, each character's story gets more and more intertwined with each other's and with the main plot, with less missions involving single protagonists.

Yea. Sounds good. Because I had the impression that its only that story and u play some missions alone with one of the characters and not all missions with all 3.

I think we will do a certain amount of missions with each character leading up to a heist then we have to switch to another and do the same until all 3 are at the same point in the story with obviously each characters sub plot involving one or both of the other protagonists now and again maybe with decisions affecting the story.

It was stated in the Game Informer preview last year that each of the three protagonists will have their own storyline arcs - which will likely be a string of specific storyline missions that pertain only to that one character, no doubt in their respective starting areas (also see last year's Game Informer preview).

 

These storyline arcs will no doubt combine as each of the characters meet the others in the storyline to form the intertwined/common (main) storyline that involves all three of the protagonists.

Well yeah, this was also the case with previous GTA games. Many missions were "filler" for the actual plot that progressed.

Just because the plot revolves around those 6 heists doesn't mean there will only be missions about them.

5 main heist missions plus 5 heist prep missions for each one

15 missions with all 3 protags

57 side missions (strangers, odd jobs etc)

Total = 187

With the new info from the trailers yesterday I had a think about this too.

 

For Michael he has these possible missons:

 

Track down his Wife's BF

Private jobs for the FiB/or whoever is pulling his strings

Masterminding the Bank heists

 

For Franklin he has quite a few possibilities:

 

The Car repo jobs

Gang missions and associated issues

Missions for Michael

 

As for Trevor, he's the difficult one. In the trailers he gets involved in the most action, jumping off trains, jumping off planes, jumping off whatever he can, shooting at everything, harrassing old people, etc...etc, but I can only come up with one reason for Missions:

 

Running his Drug business.

 

Granted that can get him into all sorts of missions, particulary if he is upsetting 'The Lost' as they could be conflicting business interests but he does not seem to answer to anyone, so aside from his own interests, where would his missions come from? I suppose helping Michael but what else?

 

I do hope he upsets some Mexican drug cartel, that would explain the frequent plane piloting but what do you guys think?

You have no idea what you're talking about. There won't be 187 missions in the game. Dan Houser already stated that the game will be about as long as Red Ded Redemption, which had around 60 missions.
