solofme
You do realize xbox has constant updates right? They upgrade their hardware all the time that's why its rated #1 in online service. Thats why games look better every year, micrsoft is installing new software chips onto your harddrives. Boosting processing speeds up to speed with most hardware on the market today. You all forgot microsoft and bill gates are still the kingpins of the pc world. Theyve proven they can do the most with the least. All these other companies are barely starting to do what microsoft was doing 7 years ago and the 360 graphics still hold its own to the competition to this day. So you have to buy a new xbox 360 to play it properly, hmmm sounds legit If you ever played bf3 online you would know there was like a 1.8gb boost chip installed to your hardrive for optimum graphics and playback. Didnt R* do somehing similar with RDR too? They could easily install a 5gb pack with gta V and have the 360 outclassing some high end pcs. With 120gb hdd's coming stock on all xboxs nowadays, I dont see the problem. Period. Dude, do you know anything about what your talking about? Your logic: PS3/360: 256/512 RAM, but with a minor install to the harddrive, it magically increases it's performance to match a high end PC, with i7 processor, 16-32GB ram, GTX 680 Card. retard If only it worked that way

eerik
360 = 512PS3 = 256? Yes, 360 has 512MB unified memory pool for both CPU and GPU, PS3 has separate RAM for CPU (256MB) and GPU (256MB).
JonRenemy
Guys. the dude talking about "upgrading Xbox 360 hardware" is obviously just a little bit confused. You'll only confuse him more by upsetting him. Everyone knows hardware is physical and you can't update it with software (soft.. hard.. its in the name), but he's referring to things like texture packs etc.... This would definitely be something worth having for GTA V. A secondary disc purely with HD mapping and texture files that can be installed to allow the game to load better textures faster. I'm all for that.. it made a BIG difference for BF3 on XB360

Beefing up xbox is only going to start a console war, and OP yes if your on about consoles 512mb will be fine, but if your on about PC you cant run IV, RDR etc on 512mb. Minimum for iv on XP is 2gb of ram so pc wont be able to kope on 512mb ram but consoles will

What a shame My PS3 crash lots.. I still don't get this whole console war and console vs. pc fight. Just get the version you like. I won't get it for xbox 360 because I stopped paying for xbox live and my HDD is too small for big dlc if we get any, that is why I'll get it first for PS3. If there is a pc version later on I'll will also get it because of the better performance and graphics. Just enjoy the game and just get it for the console/pc on which you think you will enjoy it the most.

If a PC is made correctly it will be fine to play anything ,now on topic : When Rockstar made San Andreas they pushed the consoles to brink of it's limits for that game, Now with this ERA of consoles there also doing this ... Having said that i think they know well enough how to make a very good game on these consoles ,they have had years of years of playing around with them. Now there going to push the limits with these consoles as well. & it can clearly be seen in all the trailers & screenshots they've released ... 512mb ??? If i was Rockstar i would say it's hard to do but not impossible ...

d3ex2
Yeah, they can. If they couldn't they wouldn't have got this far. The thing i wanna know is if the trailers were made from a 360 or PS3. Thats what i really wanna know. What does it matter? Both will look and play the same. OK, maybe there will be small differences (RDR was a bit sharper on 360. I prefer the blurry effect on PS3) but nothing you'd notice unless you owned the game on both consoles and compared them. stee_vo
360 = 512PS3 = 256? Nah, or well, yes but the PS3 has two 256(256 + 256 = 512) pools of RAM, and that's why it's "so hard" to develop for the PS3 but if you get it right it can make for some really great stuff.... iNero
So i assume that half of the guys in this thread dont think we will be able to play it on current consoles... Most likely PC players? Have fun watching you 1080p 60fps black screen in september... @Topic If you would have compared the performence of the IV Trailers and the latest V Trailers you would see bow much smoother V look. Even when there are huge crashes and explosions like in trevors trailer. In IV Trailers u see how it looks in-game. Atleast that's what i was told by... The internet. That is not the main reason why it's hard to develop for PS3, it's still a reason regardless, it's because of TEH CELL and it's SPEs (SIMD Units not actual cores, much less of a core). Skyrim runs poorly on the PS3 is due to lack of use of the SPEs. For a company releasing multiplatform games, the cost of developing code for the SPEs, which is very high, brings little benefit in terms of boosting PS3 sales, on top of the uncertainty of releasing a new title (Bethesda couldn't be sure Skyrim would be a success until they released it and saw the results). So yes, it’s very financially inviable, mostly due to lack of returns proportional to the investment.
thebestgameever
Wow, some people on this forum are so f*cking stupid ( not the OP, that is a legit worry) The game looks good BUT I do worry about the framerate more than anything. I just wish there is a next gen version with better view distance, less pop in, better graphics and most important very stable FPS ( or a PC version)

Have fun watching you 1080p 60fps black screen in september... Of course everyone knows you can play it on current gen, however I share the worries that the OP have that it will suffer from performance issues (which GTAIV also had) and I don't think you can compare the performance of the game from trailers. I guess we will just have to wait and see what pre/reviewers say and until we can experience it ourselves
