Where is Valve and Bethesda on your list? They start trends and set standards.

I think these weren't even worth a mention...

Ninja Theory

343 industries

Insomniac

Sucker Punch

Epic games

Bungie

SEGA is better than all of these and thats not on the list either!

I was going to go with R* because that's which company I have the most games from this gen...

But then I went with Ubisoft and their fantastic Assassin's Creed series and Driver San Francisco

Driver San Francisco was a travesty.

Was not.

You just have to like cars to enjoy it. If you don't like cars I don't know why you'd buy a game called Driver anyways.

Was so, literally, it really was.

I like cars/car games and have been a fan of the series since Driver 1/2. Driver 1 and 2 being my favourite games of the time, and still some of my favourite games, pure classics.

Unfortunately ever since Driver 2 the series has been going down hill, and Driver San Francisco was the biggest fail of the series. sh*t graphics, sh*t/cheesy voice acting, child like gameplay, bullsh*t teleporting abilities, seriously, how can anyone take Driver seriously now days.

Driver used to be a serious game, not any more.

"bullsh*t teleporting abilities" - You do realize that he is unconscious right? I have been in and out of consciousness and I must say that the developers did a GREAT job of understanding it. You do begin to pick up on things you hear in real life and begin to mold it into your unconscious world of dreams/thoughts. You begin to think/realize that people know more about yourself than you actually do, it's enlightening in a way. The human mind is amazing and I'm glad they explored this idea. As for the driving aspect, it was perfect. The cars handled well. My only complaint about the game is that it's too easy. The only missions that were difficult were the last few, and the garage mission from the original Driver game.

As for This Generation -Who ruled it? I voted Naughty Dog.

I'm surprised 2K games hasn't got more votes, what did they make

Bioshock

Bioshock 2

Bioshock Infinite

NBA series

Spec Ops The Line

Borderlands 1 & 2

Haven't played all of those games, but I found the Bioshock and Borderlands franchises to be underwhelming/overrated.

Voted R* as IV and RDR are my favorite current gen games. Still, where the f*ck is Bethesda (my 2nd favorite) in the poll options?

I give my vote to Ubisoft. They made some bad choices, sure. Like that disaster of SC: Conviction. But I absolutely love Assassin's Creed games. Easily my favorite new IP of this generation. I bought every game and I enjoyed every game.

Of course, once GTA V is released, this will probably be irrelevant. GTA V is shaping up to be the ultimate game of this generation.

I think with GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 and GTA V, Rockstar have gone way above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to delivering quality.

I personally would go with Ubisoft.(Excluding Rockstar which is pretty obvious on a GTA Forum) but if you look at it on paper(regarding sales) I have to say Activision with the CoD series. I like the CoD series, But I play them only for the story.

Although I voted for R*, I kinda agree with you.

IMO, R* ruled the 6th Gen (Damn, San Andreas was the most sold game on PS2),

7th Gen? I'd still say R*, I mean, GTA IV and EfLC, RDR, MP3, L.A. Noire, MLCA, and not to forget, GTA V which isn't released yet.

I'd say Ubisoft if not R*.

EA publish that sh*t. They're just as responsible as Treyarch/Infinity Ward. Plus, its EA that pulls those shenanigans such as online passes, micro transactions, and day 1 DLC.

EA Games does not have any ties at all to the Call of Duty series. You're thinking of Activision.

icon14.gif

EA are Battlefield, not CoD. Only way they were ever tied to CoD was through that lawsuit not so long back.

Anyway, Activision get my vote too, unfortunately so.

Well then thanks for the correction. I'm not too in-the-loop when it comes to developers/publishers.

No offence but you can't simply judge a game without playing it. Sure, V might be a good game but you can't say it is the best when it is not even released.

Well, this gen hasn't even ended. Yet people still say COD? Let GTA V come out then you can say who won. I vote for Rockstar and i'm NOT being a fanboy.

Look at it on-paper, CoD has definitely dominated in terms of sales and popularity, Of course in-terms of gameplay GTA, Assassins Creed, Far Cry are much better but if you look at it on-paper CoD has definitely ruled this gen.

I have to admit that both Ubisoft currently rule this generation of games, same as Call of Duty. Max Payne may have been a critical success for R* but only it is this time that R* is also preparing a grand release of V for 2013, which might blow Ubisoft and Sledgehammer Games away.

Activision. To deny the success of the COD franchise would be imprudent. Like it or not, Call of Duty changed gaming forever, for better or worse.

This. No matter how much people hate CoD or their other games, it is clear that ACTIVISION dominated this gaming generation.

Now if we were talking about quality of games, then Rockstar would be dominant in that category.

Shame that your opnion can't be backed up by numbers, so it'd probably not be as dominant as you think.

Not to support him or anything, since without a doubt R* didn't even come close to dominating gaming this generation. But last statistics I saw put GTA:IV as the fourth best selling game on the Xbox 360.

Voted wrong, I thought it said who ruined and voted Activision, had I read it right (ruled) I would have voted EA or Rockstar.

I see I'm the only one abiding by the topic, rather than picking my favourite developer. We all know EA dominated this gen. Its kind of hard for them not to, considering CoD is the world's best selling franchise and they have tonnes of games & developers.

What the hell is with people thinking Call of Duty is from EA?? I see it all the time, especially in the hate EA threads, people always bringing COD up as their reason for hating EA.

Read the damn game box.

EA publish that sh*t. They're just as responsible as Treyarch/Infinity Ward. Plus, its EA that pulls those shenanigans such as online passes, micro transactions, and day 1 DLC.

The funny thing is all you had to do was google Call of Duty to see what you said was completely bullsh*t. Or just looked at your game case

Was so, literally, it really was.

I like cars/car games and have been a fan of the series since Driver 1/2. Driver 1 and 2 being my favourite games of the time, and still some of my favourite games, pure classics.

I'll admit the carjack system was stupid, and the story was stupid. But the carlist was awesome, and they handled fairly nice for the type of game, and best of all: ALL cars had a interior view.

I loved the game enough I bought it cheap for PC after already having it on 360. The game would've been better if they had used an on foot system instead of the weird ghost possession system, but it was still a great game IMHO. I love all the Driver games (yes, even DRIV3R) too.

The graphics are fine too, especially when you consider they were shooting for 60FPS on ancient console hardware.

1. Rockstar Games

2. Activision (although their "games" are very similar, still a great selling series, and despite being similar they (COD) are fun games)

3. Ubisoft

4. Electronic Arts (not sure how much they dominated sales-wise, but they also had alot of enjoyable titles amongst the "flops")

Sales wise, I think, collectively Activision with CoD has ruled this generation, like it or not.

But as far as quality and replayability go, Rockstar with GTA IV, Max Payne 3 and RDR and Ubisoft with Far Cry 3 and the Assassin's Creed series have dominated this generation.
