The Return of GSF & The Ballas in GTA V

The trailers contained other names on graffiti, like 'The Hills' on the wall where Franklin has shades on and stuff on Lamar's t-shirt and hat in a couple of the shots. Green and purple is clearly the gang colours returning, but I don't think we'll see Grove St and Ballas. Hope we do though, think they would of made reference to it by now, but then again Ballas is written on a bench in trailer two so who knows.

The way I see it is, If R* wanted to change the gang names, they would've changed the gang colours. I think it's Grove Street Families and Ballas, just like how burger shot is still a burger joint and sprunk is soda.

What colours could they have changed to?

 

They can't go red or blue because they can't been seen to favour or promote one real life gang over another.

 

They wouldn't make our gang purple because that's a saints row thing

 

All we're really left with is yellow, green, or orange. And yellow and orange suck.

Yeah blue and red is probably out of the question. Imo Yellow works for a gang colour Latin kings wear it so I'm guessing a Latino/Mexican gang will fly them colours. I agree on orange that suck for gang colours.

BTW in Franklin's trailer we see Grove on a wall, and in trailer 2 we see a Ballas graffiti.

GSF and Ballas are as much a part of Los Santos as any location in the city, many of which are retruning from SA. As long as there are no recurring characters, the III-era continuity is not 'broken'.

Nope it's still Burger Shot. Cluckin' Bell, 24/7 and Didier Sachs all still carried over as well.

True a few people have said the same thing in other threads me included actually lol almost the exact same as well but hey it's all guess work right now and everyone wants to be first to call it, if we are all right I wouldn't go on about being right to everyone unless people attack you for your opinion then I could see why someone would gloat.

Dude.. I have a thread on this almost 40 pages long. Once again They wont simply be called "families and "ballas" They will go by set and sub set names.. Exp. "The Hills\ "Killer hills". Thats the set name, families is the gang name as a whole. There my be other sets within Families that are enemies to The hills. Thats called Set Trippin

I think Grove Street and Ballas were almost characters in San Andreas. SA is a totally different universe and since characters don't return, neither should the names of Grove Street and Ballas. It would be too big of a link to San Andreas, especially when there are no other connections between that game and GTA V.

No disrespect taken. I know a ton of people have been speculating on this for a while, it's kind of hard not to see the connection. Def feel free to post a link.

 

I think the new significant thing here is that in this new Franklin trailer more so than ever before we are seeing the sets display their colors and those colors are in step with what came before. I hadn't really seen Franklin rockin the GSF green until the screen shot of him wearing the bandana on his face with the chain gun this last month. So this is more or less the most heavy nod to the past we have seen thus far.

 

I am wondering if down the road we are going to start seeing the Latino set colors, like the cyan of the Varios Los Aztecas & the San Fierro Rifa or the yellow of the Los Santos Vagos. That'd be pretty cool as well.

I think (hope) that it won't be the 'GROVE STREET Families', instead something like the 'Hillside Families' or the 'Ganton Families' or the 'South LS Families', along those lines.

 

The Ballas, though, I don't know, maybe it can remain the Ballas, maybe not, I don't really know where to go with those guys.

I'm really interested in that logo on Franklin's game jacket at 1:18. Looks like an F with a crown over it. F could easily be for "Family" but the letter across from it looks like a "C" instead of a "G" so I'm left wondering.

I voted for name changes to avoid confusion, but I am having second thoughts because they were just so perfect.

Of course keeping the names consistent means they have to actually have a Grove Street. I hope they also keep the other neighbourhoods like Ganton, Idlewood, Playa de Seville, El Corona etc. because they worked quite well.

 

It would confuse GTA Wikis though.

It's pretty much the same gangs. It's a couple of kids wearing green stuff shooting at a couple of kids wearing violet stuff. That's it...that's not rocket science.

Why should they make up new names? As they already had this Ballas-Tag on the bench in Trailer #2? And even if they make up new names...so what. It's the same thing.

 

After Franklin's trailer I don't really see how anybody can deny gangs will be in the game.

I voted "It's a new GTA universe, they should come up with something new like they did in Liberty." though, there's still a huge chance of these gangs being name the Families and Ballas due to the abundance of evidence.
