Neckbeard

Is it just me or did they make his face a little bit more round?

I like the detail to the new version but his face looks very strange now

The difference is definitely noticeable in the character trailers. The graphic updates looks great in all scenes, the lighting is very good.

Props to the devs that came over from the Mafia franchise, the character animation was great and GTA V clearly benefited from them when compared to that in IV.

Imo the Delay was already worth the wait when watching these differences.

Well that kinda explains why the game looks different in many parts in the trailer.

Maybe the trailers were made using different builds, some parts being polished and some not.

The wait has been worth it? Five years? R* used to churn'em out every 1-2 years. If it's unbelievably huge with sh*t loads of stuff to do, I might forgive them.

So you want them to still be on the old GTA 1 engine then.... I disagree.

How do some people think Michael looks worse? He looks much more detailed and more like his age.

Am I not noticing something that has made Michael looks WORSE than before?

I liked Michael better in the second trailer

He looks less old. In one pic he looks like he would need a zimmer frame or something, while the other one he kinda reminds me of

Joe off Mafia 2 for some reason...

All this talk of Michael being old.

John Marston was around the same age as Michael and no one complained about being some "old man" then. I think they make far more interesting characters for stories than characters with little life experience/wisdom.

RDR was a totally different Setting. He had alot of scars and life in that time frame was alot harder than present which also effects the looking. Most people that time didnt become that old...

R* will allways get away with delays.

When your favourite band enters the stage an hour later

than announced you forgive them the moment they start to play.

Ubisoft did Delay Ghost Recon for more than 1 Year. The result was a still totally bugged crappy game.

It looked even better 1 Year earlier on E3. Looked like a total different game.

So thats not usual

It definitely looks better than it did in trailer 2. What a difference ~5 months makes, eh? Just imagine how it will look 4 1/2 months from now! Still a good few months left for them to work on it.

That being said, Michael looks like he's tripping on acid with those crazy eyes. He looks better but his eyes are f*cked up.

Why do you want them churned out every 1-2 years? It would get old quickly, then it would be the end of GTA as we know it. Rockstar is one of the few companies that actually care about quality, not quantity like Ubisoft or Activision.

For some GTA has become too popular to be cool & going against the grain makes you stand out. The fact that R* could double their profits if they released 3-4 games per generation but don't, is seen as a bad thing by some. When will people realize that the over saturation of the games market (not helped by annual release franchises) is what will cause the industry to crash.

I think the game is looking fantastic & has been seriously improved since trailer 2. How much of that is down to the delay, we'll never know. More development time to people like R*, won't be wasted & I hope the employees get a nice long Xmas break this year.

Michael's face in the latest trailer looks pre-rendered, at least in that screenshot.

S many already said, GTA Trailer never were pre rendered... probably edited but not pre rendered. either way, there were several other captures of michaels face and it looked better on every single one.

The delay has indeed its advantages, and that is the reason why they do happen at all. Every Rockstar title this console generation has been delayed at least once, although Table Tannis is an exception, and it paid off. Serious bugs and glitches can be fixed, if there are any, and the developer can put more effort into the details, at least that is what Rockstar is doing with their titles. Delays don't happen for no reason. Way too many companies in the videogame industry nowadays rush their games to release them at the announced date, rather than delaying it and getting a better result in the end.

I don't think that any of the trailers have been really 'edited'. You have to consider that the trailers are from ingame footage, that includes gameplay scenes and cutscenes. The latter one can look a bit better than the former one, although the difference isn't that big.

Completely nonsense!!! Why would R* ue different builds for one trailer or even one scene???????? That does not make any sense! Not one!
