Darrel Posted May 1, 2013 Share Posted May 1, 2013 it looks nothing like a painting. I am so impressed with the modelling of the characters. The way the light hits their skin looks awesome. Plus look at the detail in the clothes. Even the buttons on the shirts reflect light.. It's almost life like at times, but with collour and vibrancy. Once U notice how great this more cartoony graphics are the more U accept it now look at these: look at the guy with the white hoody on left. It looks like it could be from a low budget movie. Now look behind Frank. Look at the guy with the white shirt. U can compare that with a 50$ camera shot. Those are some examples why R* is going in the right direction. GTA IV has aged very well IMO. This...In the end all it will probably mean is the GTA IV trailers were better pre-rendered than the V trailers were. GTA IV has aged very well IMO. I wouldn't say it's a fine looking game at this point. It's decent I'd say. It looked "good" when it first came out, but when Gay Tony released, it looked quite dated. The textures are pretty bad and the city looks nowhere near as pretty in the day as it does in the night. The "machinima" cutscenes that take place at the end of some missions are pretty bad too. I will say that the lighting engine and cars still look good. The graphics in the IV trailers are much better than this, probably due to there being that much less going on, smaller map, less options etc... I am not complaining just making an observation...Anyone else agree? Yep How is the GTA IV PC version relevant in any capacity though? Only 1% of Rockstars sales for GTA IV came from PC. DO you honestly think IV's rain looks better than GTA V's rain??? I think he might of been being a smartass because there's no rain in the V screenshot lol You two must be on something. First off I was being sarcastic. Second off evidently it is raining in the V screenshot and I was basically trying to compare the two to show V is more detailed and complex. GTA IV was more plain, GTA V has more effects and it's still in development, it's normal it shows a lot of flaws especially on the consoles' limited hardware. That shall be fixed, and it's still better than IV.
