Nice trolling you done did there, almost had me for a second. 6/10 for effort. Look at the Michael's screenshot and tell me that it doesn't look like a painting without lying. I'm not trolling. DO you honestly think IV's rain looks better than GTA V's rain??? I think he might of been being a smartass because there's no rain in the V screenshot lol You two must be on something. First off I was being sarcastic. Second off evidently it is raining in the V screenshot and I was basically trying to compare the two to show V is more detailed and complex. The graphics in the IV trailers are much better than this, probably due to there being that much less going on, smaller map, less options etc... I am not complaining just making an observation...Anyone else agree? are u serious? Oo I watched all 3 trailers frame by frame and the graphics are stunning. Let me copy-paste something that I wrote in the screenshots post so I can know what do you think: One thing that I also notice but I was to lazy to screencap was the explosions. They looked pretty sh*tty in my opinion. I think that Trailer 2 ones were much better and more realistic. But well, the graphics doesn't make a game, the history and gameplay does. BigKush Posted May 1, 2013 Share Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) Not so much the visual style or the assets, but it goes without saying that being on the same consoles - things like anti-aliasing, draw distance and texture filtering are going to have to be sacrificed in order to allow the game to grow in depth and size so much. This is true of all sequels on consoles this generation which have had to expand their feature set and depth greatly while working with the same hardware. Thankfully this degradation is somewhat negated by the fact that Rockstar, particularly since Red Dead, are really getting the hang of the RAGE engine and will have many a trick up their sleeve. There have definitely been hits taken to the general fidelity of things, in some scenes more than others which may be down to polish. Overall it still looks fantastic and is an improvement, not least of all because there is much polish still to be had. I cant even believe this is running on current gen I thought that at first, but then I noticed a lot of low-res textures and in-game objects. And the aliasing isn't anything to write home about either. It's definitely current gen. It's the lighting that tricks you, plus most of those trailers were from in-game cutscenes, which are always touched-up. If you play IV and look closely, you'll notice that the cutscene character models and the in-game character models are a little different. Like I said, didn't you notice how the character models in IV's cutscenes look better than they do in-game? No doubt, the same will be done for V. I'm not hating on the game, just down-playing the belief that this is a next gen game. So small in fact, that it's practically insignificant. GTAV looks vastly superior to most people, and it's obvious that it has benefitted from everything Rockstar has developed since 2008. The lighting, draw distance, and coloring is much more polished. I just watched the GTAIV trailer, and it almost made me laugh. It was impressive at the time, but it clearly shows it's age now. Look at Franklin's face. This one almost looks like a painting. Just look at his god damn face (Franklin's) Some sh*tty ground textures at the right. This scene also looks like a painting to me. It is 5 years old after all so by default GTA V should look better. GTA IV was and still is a fine looking game for its age. Go play alot of games from 2008 and see how terrible they look now.
