WHAT THIS MEANS! is that anyone who had dialogue, a face, a body, and anything that looks anything like a character from previous games would not be in the new universe. Brands, streets, vehicles, and things like that can crossover because it makes sense that inanimate objects which are based off of real life objects can still exist. OT: So f*cking pumped for street gangs to be back in! Rockstar gets a little to caught up in all the "Mafia" glory which gets old after awhile. Glad that all the gang-haters were wrong. Also I find it funny how so many people hate the gangs and are repulsed that they are back, yet their favorite game is SA. Unless the game begins with Franklin biking home and almost gets jumped by standard definition rendered Big Smoke and then goes to a cemetery and we find out that they just made everything up and we are playing SA again, then by all means bitch about it. Yes it doesn't prove that Franklin is a part of GSF because Grove Street might not exist in the game. I've seen the Grove tag, but that could just be them paying homage to it. It proves that there are two main street gangs in the game using the colors Green and Purple, which is a middle finger to everyone that said "THERE WEREN'T BE GANGS EVER IN THE GAME THIS TIME I KNOW IT!!!" I like how noone is trying to claim it isn't Los Santos or that Los Santos isn't in San Andreas because "IT'S A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE", in the same way that they vehemently deny the fact that any representation of Los Santos gangs could possibly have the same names and colours as they always have.. CJ isn't coming back. Tommy Vercetti isn't coming back. We all get that, it's not hard to grasp. Neither is the fact that gang members suited up in green in South Central Los Santos are probably going to be Families still. Just like the Mafia has always been the Mafia, regardless of which UNIVERSE you're in. Definitely some wanton hate of perceived hip-hop culture going on here, borderline racism. tinman187 Posted May 1, 2013 Share Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) I think the universe theory only applies to the character's like for e.g Tommy, C.J, Claude, Ryder etc. It doesn't include place names, vehicles and products as we've seen such as Cluckin Bell, Burger Shot, Pay N Spray, Ammunation etc. So whose to say Grove Street Families wouldn't exist in this universe. I mean it is based in 'Los Santos', which was also present in the other Universe. Sure it's a different version of Los Santo's, but that doesn't mean you can't have a different version of the Grove Street Families or The Balla's for that matter. There was wAyYyYyYyY too much green in Franklin's trailer for it to be a coincidence, (hell even "chop" was wearing green, and he nearly bit a dude in 'purple'). All you could see in Franklin's trailer was people in purple being shot by people in green If Rockstar really wanted to have different gang's, they would've used different colour's like Red and Blue or Gold and Silver. It's green and purple for a reason, and I doubt they would have different gang name's just for that reason. That's pretty much how I see it. I mean it's tucked away right in the corner and something called "The Hills" and the "Killer Hills" is ALL over the wall. I'm going to be forced to play the hood main missions at least, i doubt the game will allow me to just play as Michael and Trevor without touching Franklin, it'll be like older GTA games where you're forced to do certain missions before the next strand unlocks, so naturally, we'll all be playing as all of them for at least the main story. I'm saying in the down time, I'll be spending it with Michael or Trevor, or hell, maybe I'll spend time with Franklin to if he has activities outside of the hood/gang banger/homie reppin stuff.
