neo92boi
Technically the car is a dashboard view, and Heli is cockpit view Either way it looks sick as hell. What do you guys think? Will it be in the game or is this just for the video..?
MrAssClap
dashboard was in GTA IV if I'm not mistaken. Helicopter view looks sick though, hope it's not just part of a cutscene
Irrational
They are just teasing you, it will be scrapped from the final game.
Lucky32
It'll probably just be a view option. I don't think there was a cockpit view in IV, but there was the dashboard option. Did anyone use that, anyways? I don't really like it that much.
LeeH1989
There was a cockpit view in
Wooser
In most racing game; cockpit was view right behind the steering wheel, in the car. But in GTA4 and in Franklin trailer, that view was commonly known as "hood view" or "bonnet cam" in racing games.
TheQuestfor100Percent
I think the hood view with the car is in the game, but not the cockpit of the helicopter, I think that is just for the trailer.
MrcTOtheJ
GTAIV had this Hood/Dashboard view as well. Personally I wouldn't use it, I don't like that type of view especially in this kind of a game, I'll use a Cockpit (not a hood/bumber view mind you) in a Sim/Arcade Sim racing game but in Sandboxes and Arcade racers, I don't...though it would be a neat option to use occasionally I admit. Dnero
A cockpit/dashboard view is where we see the steering wheel and whatnot. What the trailer shows and what IV had was a bonnet/hood view (for the cars). That heli one is cockpit view for sure though.
Canes21
There actually was a cockpit view in GTA IV. Not many people realized it, but when you made your camera view stay in cinematic view, you could cycle through angles. When you found one that was in a locked position and not bouncing around loosely, all you had to do was press down(not click in) the right thumb-stick and that view would be locked in until you switched it. This also worked with cars as well. I used to love flying around in the helicopters with the view locked in the cockpit view. It was a tad difficult because it wasn't centered and perfect, but it was better than 3rd person in my opinion. There were also angles for cars and bikes. In the bikes you could lock the view to where you were constantly over the left shoulder of your character and would drive by looking over the shoulder. The cars had views like directly above the back of the car to where you were looking over it and at times possibly through the back window and windshield. Also you could lock it into the front driver's side tire. There were multiple angles for every type of vehicle in IV that you could lock. I'm assuming Rockstar did it on purpose, but it was never anything I ever have read or seen anybody else mention, but it definitely is in the game.
