The trailers were a mix of current gen & next gen/PC.

This part looks so much better than all the rest:

and if you take a look at the Trevor trailer (

) at 00:50, you'll notice the graphics in that 'cutscene' look way better than anything else and so does the animations.

I disagree. Its just shot with angles you aren't used to, and more importantly lighting you aren't used to.

The part where the guy says "gangster sh*t" franks face, the shadows and SSAO, it doesnt look current Gen, it just looks too nice.

I think it's just because they've simplified a lot of the textures and graphics in general. GTA IV fell short because it was trying to look real. They seem to have gone back on that idea now.

All of this. Dynamic angles and good lighting can make things appear better than they are.

And also, it could just down right not be in real time.

They are still working on the game some maybe some parts are more polished than others.

Its because its at night, the graphics in GTAIV also look better when its dark.

Need to stop assuming any are next gen or PC.

Rockstar has stated various times the versions being worked is current gen hardware. End of story.

Yea I felt the same way. I noticed that night time parts of the trailers look better than the day time. Maybe it is because of the improved lighting or something. I remember hearing in the Konami's recent press conference/demo that lighting can make a huge difference.

just the lighting move along. Also don't call the PS4 or new Xbox 'next gen', they use outdated hardware and hold back real progress.

If you get your TV settings and in-game settings right, IV can look VERY similar to that scene from the trailer, no mods or anything.

This is PS3 footage. There will be no PS4 version - FACT!

But.. that's not a fact, because it has not been stated anywhere.

You should've said, "There will be no PS4 version - OPINION!" wink.gif

that scene in Franklin's trailer when there was a car chase on the freeway looked amazing, just the car lights, speed, and just the whole look!

car chases on the freeways are going to be so badass inlove.gifbiggrin.gif

It's not a mix because they are rendered on a PS3/360.

What you see is a much improved RAGE engine. Good lighting can make anything look amazing.
