Lock n' Stock
Okay, this topic isn't meant to bash or criticize the game in anyway. One thing I noticed though while playing Max Payne 3 was the huge amount of cutscenes within the game. I felt some were really overstretched and unnecessary. It almost felt as if the game was 60% gameplay, 40% cutscenes. Don't get me wrong, Max Payne 3 is a great game but I feel Rockstar went over-the-top with them as many are unstoppable and also seem way too frequent. They could have easily had several events during these as actual gameplay such as climbing up ladders, setting bombs and just travelling to different places in general. Regarding GTA V though, I'm a little bit worried that it'll heavily rely on cutscenes during gameplay like Max Payne 3 did and that some cool things such as Trevor shooting on the wing of a plane or Michael rappelling down a building will just be played as a cutscene rather than actual gameplay. Again, I thought Max Payne 3 was good but I feel the heavy use of his kind of stuff brought the game down alot. I don't want the same to happen with GTA V during missions, even though Max Payne 3 is a different game all together. Sorry if this topic sounds like a total whine-fest. I'm not trying to stir sh*t up, it was just a small concern is all.
Santoslosvargas2567
To me, the more cutscenes the better. Unlike most games, GTA doesn't end after the story, so you get as much gameplay as you want. Cjrememberthat
OJsAlibi
This is a legitimate worry, definitely. First thing I thought after I watched all three trailers.
TheJasonGallant
Well, I don't know... I love cutscenes actually.. Cjrememberthat
Woody112
Yeah, it definitely seems like there might be quite a few, but as long as there's enough actual game to balance it out I'm fine with it.
Famous-CLS
I could sit and watch the cutscenes for hours if the story is as good as I imagine it will be Although i think they will be a bit longer than IV's it's nothing to worry about. It's GTA V! What could be bad about that? For what we know the missions might just be longer too than previous GTA's
baguvix_wanrltw
Thought something similar... I just hope all the "new combat system" stuff isn't just cutscenes. Among other things...
Jordan_Philip
I prefer more cutscenes than less. If they work like the scenes in uncharted 3 that would be perfect - many quick detailed and fully motion captured with no loading or black screen between gameplay and cutscene. FAH-Q
MP3 also isn't a sandbox.
Snake Without a Tongue
We need a thread to pin-point what might be the tiny bits of actual gameplay. I'm pretty sure Franklin walking at the end of his trailer is actual gameplay.
Lock n' Stock
MP3 also isn't a sandbox. I know. I'm just worried that with Max Payne 3, Rockstar may have developed a habit for heavily relying on cutscenes to advance story missions more. ChocoFrosty
There's hope that the cutscenes may be packed with humor. If that's the case, I'll enjoy sitting through them much more than in IV (and I loved IV as a game).
