Tashan
Is it possible to get a complete list for graphic cards which are compatible with i5-3570(not i5-3570K) OS: Win XP SP3 or Win 7 32 bit with 2 GB RAM and 1 GB HDD. Not looking for costly cards nor a perfect gaming card but a strong graphic card to meet two important functions: High level video editing using Sony Vegas for online presentations plus normal gaming capacity running at medium settings at best. Mainly confusion relates to PCIe slot (i5-3570 has 1 (x16), 3 (x8), 2 (x4)), best Memory and type (DDR2 or 3) to suit the i5 ( with good clock rate), best Processing Power GFLOPS and lastly which brand (not the manufacturer, i.e., NVIDIA or Radeon but the Brand namely OEM) I hope every thing is covered above, looking forward for good suggestions, thanks! yoječ
Every GPU is compatible with this CPU. How much can you spend on the GPU and what PSU do you have? Also, do you have this CPU already or are you planning to buy it?
nigelhere9901
Just like yojo2 stated above, every GPU is compatible with this CPU. If you're going to do video editing you're gonna need some massive compute power, I would recommend a AMD Southern Island GPU.
sivispacem
2GB RAM with an Ivy Bridge processor? That seems very low. Tashan
Every GPU is compatible with this CPU. How much can you spend on the GPU and what PSU do you have? Also, do you have this CPU already or are you planning to buy it? On GPU - max 200$ Corsair VS450 450 Watt PSU I plan to buy it! 2GB RAM with an Ivy Bridge processor? That seems very low. Actually 2GB RAM is of the current hardware and now changing definitely that to 4GB but not beyond that. I cannot afford any other processor other than i5-3570 both in terms of raw power and also the best for a moderate gaming. Gaming isn't the main priority in terms of main usage as much it is essential for my video conferencing and presentations currently. SO, i5-3570 fits the need which is why I like it. To mention some of the main applications that will be used often are: 1. Sony Vegas for editing 2. Camtasia Studio for Presentations 3. Acrobat reader for doc conversions 4. Adobe Photoshop for image editing 5. HDTv output software or online Video conferencing tools (nothing decided on this yet but have to check the connections and billing quotes for now) 6. Lastly, Good gaming with max 1-2 game(s) installed. Edited May 2, 2013 by shrekdj
Finn 7 five 11
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814202025 ^HD 7870 Ghz edition 2GB, $189.99 with the mail in rebate being offered. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814127702 ^GTX 660 2GB, $204.99 standard. Both of these cards are pretty close to on par with each other, some games and programs one performs better than the other and vice versa, I would get the 7870 with a rebate. I take it you already have the PC? You just need a GPU? That's too bad, I would have gone with A AMD FX 8150 and spent the Extra 60 bucks you save on a better GPU for your editing, it might make more of a difference, i'm not too sure on that last part though. Tashan
I take it you already have the PC? You just need a GPU? Replacing the current hardware with mainly CPU, GPU and RAM but you have hit the perfect match ... really good choices for now.. .. thanks everyone
unc13bud
some of those applications enable better performance with select GPUs. i would look at recommended GPUs within the community forums of those software you are using i.e. Sony Vegas http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro/gpuacceleration
