Fakey_91
For myself, after watching these 3 trailers, I will be avoiding all GTA info, including trailers and previews until September 17th when I actually play the game? Anyone else doing something similar? I want to keep a lot of things a secret and find out the cool little things myself.
Meekail
I was going to do this same thing the last time, but I couldn't avoid them.
Fakey_91
I was going to do this same thing the last time, but I couldn't avoid them. I'm not really into video games these days (only GTA and Forza) so I don't go to any game websites. I'll just have to avoid GTA forums haha
Durden
Good luck, uncle-brother. Many have tried, but they've all caved in. I had thought about something similar, but now I've just embraced the info. May Cris Formage have mercy on your soul.
djdiond
haha, I have done the exact opposite.
Ex Hellraiser
For most of us, no matter how many times we say "After this, I am avoiding all info I hear of" we will get sucked back in eventually before release... There is no avoiding it. This is Grand Theft Auto. It is like nicotine. It gets in your head. You will never be free of its mind control. #KIFFLOM

Alenko
Yeah... This is a GTA game. It's impossible. Btw... this wait is f*cking killing me.
THEREALRIK
Nope, dont see a point to avoiding info. i have faith whatever they release wont spoil anything. To me though nothing they release will make the game less enjoyable to play.
Miss Darko
After the delay, I just don't think I could stand to wait for the game without anything to make the wait more enjoyable. Just completely getting it out of my mind is out of the question because, well, I've tried. But at the same time, I know my limits. With R*, I don't feel like I've ever learned too much just from the trailers and previews. It's watching gameplay footage before playing the game that has spoiled the experience for me. Watching leaks for GTA IV, watching some missions for RDR, etc. Basically, I'll be avoiding leaks like the plague. But I think I can watch the trailers and reading some (not all, necessarily) of the previews. R* is company that knows how and when to reveal stuff, and how to keep their cards close to their chest. They're good at it. Hell, they've managed to show several wide open vistas of the map without giving away its exact shape or what lies within it. Most developers can't say the same. Couple things I'll be avoiding, though: I'm not looking at the Mapping Los Santos thread anymore. It sucks, because it's one of the better threads out there and it's bound to have lots of interesting discussion after the trailers and previews (with their screenshots) come out, but I feel like I will end up learning way too much about the map that way. That extends to not seeing whatever maps R* might reveal prior to release. I don't think I'll be visiting the website when they release it, either. I'll probably be visiting this forum less and less as the release nears, as well. In fact, a month or so before release I think I could probably deal with going full black-out from that point forward, not going on the forum, not reading/hearing about V at all, etc. But at that point the wait won't feel so long. It'll still feel long, of course, time will slow down exponentially until the day before release feels like a month of its own, but I think I could do it. arsenal_fan
I just want to see one decent video with gameplay in it and I'll be happy. I'll probably cave in since I've been so starved of info by Rockstar over the last 2 years, but I always draw a line in which I never watched leaked gameplay/mission videos like what happen a week before GTA IV got released. I would never do that as it would ruin it a bit for me.
XTREME0235
I was planning on doing the same thing, but a little bit more flexible then what you have planned. I was going to take these months as they come with all the news and information, then about a day before the release I would avoid these forums and any possible leaks "like the plague", as Mr. Darko said. So now that I have created my GTAFiveVids channel, I am basically committed to always uploading videos on all the latest news and info regarding the game. The only times I will go onto YouTube just before/after the game is released is when I upload the mission gameplays, that's it. Good luck to those who try to avoid any information from here on in until the release... no seriously, good luck.

Man I just visited the mapping thread today and saw some of those updated maps people have made! It is insane how big the game will be and on top of that kudos to them for making a likely rendering of the map.
Girish
I don't think I'll be ruining anything just by watching a few trailers or reading up on the features of the game. The opportunity to experience the game first hand is enough to satiate any needs or expectations that I may have. After all, I did look and read up on a lot of games before buying them and in most cases, I wasn't disappointed.
JOSEPH X
I got burned by gorging on too much info before RDR came out. Familiarity breeds contempt and I felt there was nothing new when I played the game, so I didn't enjoy the game. With Skyrim I went on a news blackout for a year and that worked out. My advice - just watch the trailers and don't bother with previews.
locolow2011
Im not avoiding the info but what i'm doing is not playing ANY GTA game until V for what is 2013, so yeah, i haven't played any GTA since before Jan 1st '13, its tough but i believe it will make the V experience feel a lot more fresh. Ya right about that. Every now and then I wanna fire up the ol' IV, but I refrain myself as the V experiance will be better. I still play a sh*t tone of III, though... i dunno why it's a good time waster.
Luuno
im sure they will keep in tons of secrets and by far not reveal too much! its R* they want us to be mindblown once we play that game! im embracing every info and letting the hype take control lol
d3ex2
If you manage it then well done. I wish I could but unfortunately I'll be reading every little bit of info that comes from Rockstar, they won't actually spoil the game that much. I will be avoiding the forums/gaming websites at the start of September until I finish the game. I can maybe last a few weeks but not ~ 4 1/2 months. gta5freemode4eva
I am cautious about news from now on but I'm pretty sure they know what info to release and what info to keep locked up. If they release the map, even though I really want to see it, I would be very annoyed. The same goes for car customization. I don't know if it is in the game but if it IS then I don't want to know about it even though I secretly do!! but if I was told it was in the game it would spoil the surprise for me. I don't want to read all the info... but I know I will. With all this said even if they released ALL the information I would still thoroughly enjoy the game for years but surprises are always better. Chunkyluva53
I probably won't be googling gta v for new news nearly as often after I've seen the 3 trailers because I played through gta iv and tbogt one more time and finished it so I don't want to get burned out from gta. In the mean time I bought max payne 3 and hitman absolution, might buy Dark Arisen and will go back to nba 2k13 to keep me busy for the next 4 months. It will be good to have a break from anything GTA related for a little bit given it's been the main obsession game wise for a while for me. It's like football or basketball season. The off-season makes you appreciate it more when it begins again. Then when GTA V releases I'll be refreshed again for the GTA universe.

BigKush
I admire your self control. I too feel that the level of mystery and intrigue is at about the right level now, but on the other hand I've always trusted Rockstar to protect us from a spoiled appetite. This is something that is important to them and that they are very good at.
