ON: Why do people keep comparing completely different games to each other. GTA will sell no mather how good/bad games from another genre will sell. And people who want to play gta will buy it no mather what. How 'awesome' those other games will be, gta is a one of a kind game and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay different than for example bf4.

 

And why should you/we even care if an other game sells better than gta. Even if I'm the only one buying it, I wouldn't care, as long as I have fun with it -.- It's no competition.......

I honestly think The Last of Us will be a great game. I don't think GTAV has any competition from it, but The Last of Us looks really good! I haven't played a good Battlefield since BBC2 (which I'm sure a lot of people will disagree.) COD has never really been that great, other than quick-scoping online with my friends, I never bother to play it. Watch Dogs looks good but... I know it won't beat GTAV. If it does, I will be really surprised honestly.

Not knocking the games posted. They will all do well in there own respects. But GTA has heritage and predecessors that revolutionized videogames. Like it or not GTA has no competition.

Watch_Dogs comes out two months later, so people could get both. Not only that, but I'm going to wait until PS4 comes out before getting Watch_Dogs so it will be my first PS4 game. I'm sure most people would do the same.

I can guarantee 90% of all votes towards TLoU and BF4 were voted by people who are personally anticipating that particular game more than the other 2.

 

From a logical POV, the only comparable game would be WD since it's the same type of genre/gameplay elements. However if we're comparing sales, probably WD. I've spoken with a lot of people about WD and nobody has had anything negative to say -- they're all amazed. BF4, on the other hand, has people quite unimpressed so far since the graphics look only slightly improved at best, and that's the main reason people buy new BF games.

 

TLoU shouldn't even be an option since its not only an entire different genre of game, but the sales will be uncomparable considering its PS-only.

Back to the question, I believe GTA will kick the living sh*t out of all them, but Watch_Dogs looks very good.

While all those games look and have amazing potential...... GTA V has zero competition. Even if we assume people will buy the other games, I can assure you majority of them would still say I'm buying GTA soley for the fact that it's a GTA, the franchise has become almost symbiotic with our current gens.... you simply do not not buy GTA.

 

GTA has becoming the undisputed king of gaming hype and appeal, with GTA V only pushing the envelope even further. There is a reason Rockstar doesn't need to show up at E3 or other gaming events, they simply post a random trailer, know their servers will implode and every gaming media outlet will completely disregard every/any other game to get their hands on it

 

If you honestly think games like Battlefield 4, The Last of Us or Watchdogs.... will affect GTA V's sales or reviews your delusional. It WILL outsell IV (which is already at 25 Million), get virtually perfect scores and be marveled as the crown jewel of current gen gaming. Thats Rockstars whole incentive when making these games
