One particular game with a cover system that I really like,and felt was not only fluent but fast,and not to forget it allowed you to move to other areas for cover in a quick fashion was Ghost Recon: FS...It was a overall poor game,but I remember very much enjoying the movement in the game...I think it would fit PERRRFectly in a GTA game.

Something like RDR that you can jump objects with a mix of LA NOIRE that you can turn a corner and still being in cover

Riiight...I mean yeah they don't have to STEAL or copy every detail of another games cover system,but with out a doubt it needed heavy fixes from the last installment. I would like one that would allow me to keep on the move,but keep out of enemy fire as well.

I think i would agree with RDR too, it felt like a refinement over GTAIV's. I like my cover system simple but effective. smile.gif

Still never played RDR I should give it a go...since it's like less than 20 $

A upgraded cover system,better on foot mobility,with a way to kill wih stealth,and

avoid detection would greatly improve GTA's already spectacular game.

It should be similar to Max Payne 3.

You got there just before me! I really hope the cover system has the fluidity of Max Payne 3. I also hope they switch to the weapon wheel from RDR.

I don't think GTA has to copy anything from any game.

Damn the world shall be if Rockstar gets ideas from other games!

Damn the world shall be! Right?! In no shape or form should Rockstar use any ideas for GTA, because it's the supreme game.

MP3 had a pretty smooth cover system. I've supposedly put over 200 hours into that game and I don't recall ever feeling like it got me f*cked.

 

But there are a few things that the cover system needs, in my opinion. A couple have already been stated I think, like being able to round corners like in LA Noire. But one thing that seems to be missing and it would not surprise me if it was not in GTA V, because it wasn't in Red Dead Redemption, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't in Max Payne 3. The ability to freely crouch in cover. Sure, you can crouch against cover that isn't tall enough to stand against but you're either stuck standing or stuck crouched. Hoping that GTA V finally gets this right, as this ability would add a bit of extra possibilities in shootouts, one second you pop out from cover, shooting your targets while standing, they fire back, and you pop back out but this time ducked and the shots fly over your head as you blast away unharmed.

Ugh, they don't need to copy anything. If you ask me, cover systems in most shooting games nowadays (Max Payne 3, Uncharted, Watch Dogs e.g) all seem to work similar. The cover system Rockstar have used in most of their recent games works well enough and I say they stay with it. The cover system from GTA IV and the Episodes felt rather stiff so I'm hoping they don't use that again.
