Vice City vs. IV.

Recommended Posts

Vice City vs. IV It is like comparing a mini to a Lamborghini.

Not really no. They're both open world crime games made by the same company in the same brand. These similes floating around here suck more and more.

Bully and GTA are both made by Rockstar. Doesn't mean they're comparable.

VC and IV, while they have their similarities are totally different games.

Actually Bully and GTA are comparable...Jesus it's not that hard to compare video games.

for me Its Iv Hands Down! Understand Me Brother? im not gonna be to hard on Vice as it is my 2nd/3rd Favorite Gta (Tied With the Tlad) But Iv Is Still LIGHT YEARS Ahead IN EVERY Way! apart from soundtrack Vc Soundtrack is pretty Much Perfect. but other than that i don't see how anyone can say vice is better Than IV!

Which one i like more? Vice city hands down, no contest what so ever. IV was horrible, i just couldn't get into the game.( Though The story was ok, everything else i did not like) This is just my opinion after all though, i respect others who like it.

An incomplete Lamborghini. Sure it's nice to look at but it has engine troubles, you'll die if you drive [walk] over a curb incorrectly, the radio is complete crap, the passenger keeps asking to go bowling, and no matter which choice you make you'll still end up in the same place.

As an avid GTA SA fan I'd never thought I'd say it but the size of the map doesn't matter, VC is much more interesting for me.

Yeah, yeah bumps but thread wasn't locked, so i decided to type some words.

I honestly think they both have same amount of content in them. Thus comparing them actually feels like it's meant to be.

Physics: IV

Graphics: IV

Vehicle detail: IV

Textures: IV

Main character: Tie (two badasses)

Story: Tie (for me, it's IV, but people seems to really like VC scarface knockoff story)

Atmosphere: Tie (Two different amazing atmospheres)

City design: IV (really catched NY feeling)

City Size: IV

Vehicle variety: VC (even tho IV had more vehicles, most of them was regular sedans that supposed to be different from each other)

Vehicle details: IV

City Details: IV

Weapon variety: VC

Weapon details: IV

Side missions and activities: VC

Other details: IV (like [email protected] cafe, cellphone and able to hang out with fellas, able to get drunk anytime, able to pick up objects and able to eat things even when your health is full, with actual animation)

Properties: VC (IV hasn't any)

Safehouses: VC

Swimming: IV (Vc hasn't any)

Character customization: IV

Interiors: IV (being able to enter more interiors)

Storyline lenght: IV

Mission variety: VC

And.. soundtrack: obviously VC, with a HUUUGE gap

Overall it seems like IV wins

Neither. I hated VC so much that I just used cheat codes to get through it as quickly as possible. Something about it would make sick while trying to just drive around the map. Just couldn't get into IV. Made it through a few missions and unlocked part of the map before turning it off forever.

I never understood what people see in VC and I still don't. The city is small, empty and simplistic, the graphics and animations were horrid even at the time (especially considering what it was trying to convey - the flashiness of the 80's, the people in swimwear etc.), the story was meh, the driving, controls, shooting and other gameplay elements were utter garbage, the missions were ridiculous. The main protag, despite what people often say, had bland and uninteresting voice acting.

Mafia blew it completely out of the water in 2002 in all these regards.

GTA IV = Best story in the series, best physics, best city detail etc.

Vice City = Unrivalled atmosphere, best soundtrack, perfect amount of content without unnecessary bullsh*t like San Andreas and GTA V.

Like I said when this made was made a few years back this is really like asking me which one of my children I love more. :p

I love Vice City, play it since 2004, but 4 is just way bigger. I love Tommy but Niko is just the best. My top 5 GTAs :

1. GTA 4 + EFLC Expansions

2. GTA SA

3. GTA VC

4. GTA 5

5. GTA 3

Played every game since GTA 2 , my least fav is GTA LCS, just absolutely HATE that one and Toni the slave (he never becomes the man) is the worst gta protagonist ever imho, also bad game play, plot and takes away features like swimming and stuffs....

I think this is much hard to compare than if it was IV vs San Andreas.  VC is my favourite 2nd GTA, and I'm gonna go for IV.  Even though VC, has more things to do and be able to buy property. I still feel IV is the better game overall, the physics are better, the gameplay, the story and the characters. It's a very close one.

Protagonist:VC

Antagonists:IV

Other characters:VC

Dialogue:IV

Narrative:IV

Soundtrack:VC

Atmosphere:VC

Map:For me VC is better eventhough it's far smaller.

Weapons:VC

Vehicles:VC

Driving:VC

Shooting mechanics:IV

Main Mission:VC

Side Missions:VC

Cheats:VC

NPCs:IV

AI:IV

Vehicle Damage:IV

Graphics and details:IV

Physics:IV

Customization:IV

I'd say most of the areas IV beats VC in are due to new engine/hardware. Based on release date Vice City is the winner for me.

Of course VC. I can't imagine anyone thinking otherwise.

Completely agree, but I rate IV as the worst GTA, so for me VC is definitely better 😜

How dare anyone have a different opinion to you. This question has always been hard for me since I love both games almost equally and thery're clearly the best of their eras.
