Patrizio 1,511
Come on then, lets have it - who wins out of this one? Amidst the constant war between SA and IV fans, VC gets ignored and left out - for one so many of the arguments of the features of SA>IV are actually to be found in VC as well, such as planes. I'll be interested see people's opinions on this - particularly Miami, who will be torn! For me, it is VC, hands down. captain jack sparrow
Eminence E. 14
OK. I think this is not fair! Everybody's eager to decide which game is better. We have VC vs SA, then SA vs IV and now VC vs IV! Each game was the best in its time. The graphics of the old GTA's were not that good but it is not R*'s fault. Back in that time only a few PC'c were able to run those GTA's on max settings. So no more fights. R4gN0r0K
W1ddL3 378
Tough one, my two favourite GTAs pitted against each other. Not cool. Ultimately I probably have to give it to IV. The gameplay is just a lot more enjoyable for me thanks to the physics and I still think IV's Liberty City is probably the best open world map to date, there's just so much detail. GoldenBlade 139
As much as I love VC, I'll have to say IV. The gameplay and physics are wonderful. Not to mention that I absolutely love LC (both eras). In GTA IV's LC, I still discover new buildings to this day. VC is better for messing around and just having fun, though. Plus, it's simply an AMAZING classic that deserves much appreciation.
DarrinPA 148
VC hands down. I can't wait for MVC's choice. captain jack sparrow
Patrizio 1,511
Miami will be tossing and turning now - unable to make a decision. . I think I'm sometimes too harsh on GTA IV. I don't know what it is - I love it. But I just don't adore it like I did the previous three incarnations. There was just something missing - can't put my finger on it. Algonquin Assassin 51,099
This is so cruel. It's like asking me which one of my children I love more. For the sake of the thread however I'll give it to GTA IV, but only just. VC is a classic, but I just love Niko and LC. They're both better than SA so that's all that matters to me. GtaIIIFanBoy 17
Iv is far better imo better story better characters better city and atmosphere i could go on the only thing vc has over iv is the soundtrack vice city is still a classic though. but IV is still EASILY BETTER!! ExtremoMania 334
I think VC and IV are best in their own ways because both games have great storylines, alot of features, wonderful world of gameplay, badass protagonists and more. But ultimately I'll give the winner-round for IV, gameplay and physics wise, it's an outstanding game, plus when you go back to the previous classics, it all traces it's roots back down to them, because those are the games the greatly improved everything in IV. BabeRuth 102
Both are very good games in their own way. I like VC for the atmosphere, vehicles, music, beaches, and it's colorful in so many ways. Tommy was a complete badass. IV I had alot of fun shooting the pigeons. . The internet was really cool feature, the atmosphere was okay, music was good, and above everything else the game was taken in my home state. Overall VC wins though. OldSchoolGTAGamer 1
Vice City is far better. Liberty City gets boring, and the map is so tiny in GTA 4. The missions are mostly driving ones. Roman calling nonstop. Tommy is a far bigger badass, and he takes no crap from anyone. Niko can get a bit bland. After playing GTA 4 for a bit, I ended up getting bored & moved onto Vice City. I'm not bashing GTA 4. I just think VC owns it. Characters in VC are far more charismatic & memorable too. captain jack sparrow
MyDog 131
Honestly, IV is better imo but I simply couldn't vote for it against VC because it has special value for me. Many beautiful memories of that game.
Algonquin Assassin 51,099
and the map is so tiny in GTA 4. I know everyone has their opinion, but this is a ridiculous criticism to make when VC has one of the smallest maps in the series. "tiny"? Oh please.. lol232 3,307
Very tough one, I'd say VC, just because I have more memories from it. IV has a better story, though.

Andreas 5,780
That's a really tough question in my opinion, it's not as simple for me to compare these games with each other as comparing San Andreas and GTA IV with each other. Both games are true masterpieces without a doubt, that's for sure. Both stories, the one of Tommy Vercetti as well as the one of Niko Bellic, are interesting but if we talk about the depth, then Niko is definitely the winner I think. Vice City's 80's atmosphere is very well done and everything fits; the storyline, the soundtrack, the look of the pedestrians, simply everything! Sonny is an old friend of Tommy and he sents him to Vice City. Lance Vance seems to help the protagonist but he and also Sonny have only betrayed him the whole time. I like that type of 'drama'. As for Niko, there is one thing in the story that I really like; the fact that Niko just arrived Liberty City but not only this; he just arrived America! I have visited some of the neighbour countries of Austria but I never once left europe. I have never visited America and that is probably one of the reasons why I can identify myself with NB. GTA Vice City and GTA IV are the best games of the whole series in my opinion, but I think that the latter one is slightly better.

Well whether you find it bland is one thing, but to say it's tiny is so far off the mark it's not even funny. GTA IV's LC is the biggest city in the series. It's not tiny by any stretch of the imagination.

Verdant 205
This is a really hard decision as I really enjoyed both games. GTA IV had it's dark days theme with the problems Niko and Roman were in and the story line was very solid. Vice city it is for me, reasons for this were the vibe it had and Tommy Vercetti was such a bad ass protagonist. Working his way up, buying businesses, capping gang members, it felt like you were the king of Vice City.
GTASAddict 20
To sum up the "Which GTA is best" sort of topics: As Tommy Vercetti once said: "I guess that's a perspective thing." As Carl Johnson once said: "I appreciate your input, but please, f*ck off." captain jack sparrow

bobgtafan 7
IV hands down. I like Niko more than any other Rockstar character and besides that I didn't particularly like Tommy. In any case the world of Liberty City is so much more interesting than Vice City, which is a badly designed city mind you, that IV hands down wins.
