Posted April 29, 2013 Share Posted April 29, 2013 I think the most logical thing surrounding the fourth player would be: - Extra character during missions (i.e chop) - Gateway to multiplayer outside of missions (nifty way of moving to multiplayer could be, the zoom out function when switching to the multiplayer character, and then it zooms back in to where you last left multiplayer, from which you can just drive around in free roam or move to a lobby such as races etc. If first time playing, would start you out at the airport or something. That's something I really want to see, a seamless transition to multiplayer) There will be no custom character for use in Single Player, FACT. saintsrow Posted April 30, 2013 Share Posted April 30, 2013 I bet its MP, but fingers crossed that it is our fully customizable character for both MP and SP. Right on, same character crossing over SP to MP, and we can actually advance the SP game and play some essential missions as our custom character, and do a lot of SP free roam rampaging and stat building using this character. Honestly, I rarely have adjusted to playing as a protag and fully role-playing the story arc in my mind. I want to pretend it is me in the game, living in Los Santos and doing this cool stuff. You make your character however you like appearance wise, and when you give them their voice, it chooses their lines. Not brain surgery... That way if someone accidentally chooses 4th he can go for NO and remain in the SP. It could be MP.. But it could also be to handle the 4th guy in occasional missions which require more than 3 guys. Dick Justice Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 Previews actually mentioned the slot was for multiplayer. It's seemingly confirmed. I can see them making your multiplayer avatar a part of the single-player world, but when you switch to him/her you get all the multiplayer options on your phone: join game, customize avatar, etc. If it's done like this, what we get is a pretty non-abrupt transition into multiplayer that can quickly be escaped if we hit the wrong button. Maybe the second you hit the button it starts searching for a free-roam lobby and other players start entering the game world you were already playing single-player in. As for customizing our own character, I don't think complete customization is totally necessary. I don't need to control how wide their jaw is or the colour of their eyes and so on. But what if they just give us a large selection of pedestrians? Maybe 100 or so heads that can be mixed-and-matched with 100 or so shirts and so on.
