initium Posted April 29, 2013 Share Posted April 29, 2013 Is there anyone who's considering buying a new console? My xbox 360 is about 4 or 5 years old, and not as fast as it used to be. It also freezes sometimes. Knowing that GTA V will push the consoles to it's limits, I'm probably going to buy a new Xbox. Anyone doing the same here? d3ex2 Posted April 29, 2013 Share Posted April 29, 2013 (edited) My PS3 died a couple weeks ago. I got it the day they launched here in the UK. It lasted me over 6 years. As soon as I saw that dreaded yellow light I was straight onto Amazon to order a brand new sexy Playstation 3 (Super Slim 320GB) which arrived less than 24 hours later with 2 free games! Compared to my old PS3 the new PS3 is super quiet, much cooler and uses less power. All consoles play a game the same way but it's nice to have a brand new fresh out the box PS3 that should last me for years to come. I have no worries about playing GTA V on it. And let's not have a console war! PS3 or 360 it doesn't matter. Pretty much the same. PS3 has blu ray/better exclusives. Xbox is dearer after a year because you gotta keep buying online subscription. The Xbox is a nice machine (I think it looks better than PS3) and the controllers are very ergonomic. I've had a Playstation since the first one came out. I'm happy with Sony. Sure I prefer PC, but not all games come to PC, and some come to PC in the form of terrible ports. I'll get V for PC when they release the PC version, as I love mods, but I don't feel like waiting until then to play V, so I'll get it on console first. The latest rumours imply that the system will have something "XBOX Mini" a X360 SoC which will run any X360 game, but that's just like kinect, it doesn't come built in, you have to buy it.
