Frank Brown
I've already seen the Watchmen movie. So much penis, holy f*ck, Dr. Manhattan. Is it worth getting the comics then?
Otter
Yeah, one of the best I've ever read. Different..ish outcome. Might actually make you appreciate the movie even more, depending on what you took away from it. Edit - hell, obviously, Walking Dead - it's what got me back into comics after a decade long hiatus. Abel.
I've already seen the Watchmen movie. So much penis, holy f*ck, Dr. Manhattan. Is it worth getting the comics then? It's a masterpiece. I enjoyed it so much, as a comic and as a piece of classic political/social commentary, that I never bothered to watch the film. Definitely worth a look. Otter: I was never into the TV show, but I really enjoyed the first 80 or show Walking Dead Comics. I lost touch with it completely after they got to the gated community type place in Washington . I really need to get into the new issues in the summer. I'll post a graphic novel so as not to spam the thread. Anyone else read The Green Woman by Straub, Easton and Bolton? The artwork is absolutely sublime, and the plot is deep, compelling and very dark. Edited April 1, 2014 by elanman

Otter
Nah; any comic fan recognizes the art they used to compose that.
darthYENIK
I haven't read "Y". I think I'm going to start buying the TPBs soon. So the Walking Dead #125 is out... Dwight did not poison his crossbow bolt. Negan came around on the idea that he can work in harmony with Rick and co. Rick seems like a f*cking psycho, but does the right thing. I think Negan was going to play Rick, and kill him the moment he turned his back. #126 is going to be a hell of an issue.
wiizardii
So my thread seriously got locked for this thread, a 1 YEAR OLD THREAD..?? Sometimes, I wonder if moderators use human logic, or something else..
Der Süden
So my thread seriously got locked for this thread, a 1 YEAR OLD THREAD..?? Maybe your thread would have survived if you didn't put the comic part in it. I think the question "Who's your favorite superhero and why?" deserves its own thread. To answer your question from your thread: Superman, because of his abilities. He can fly, he can survive in space and he's super strong. But I find the characters of Spiderman or Batman more interesting. Edited May 9, 2014 by Preusse
Danz.
So my thread seriously got locked for this thread, a 1 YEAR OLD THREAD..?? Sometimes, I wonder if moderators use human logic, or something else.. All american superheroes suck 12 inches everyday. They are all either overpowered, uninteresting, or both, which is the case for 97% of them. An exception may be Spiderman, still, he's too cliché to be considered cool. ------------- My favorite hero would be either Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) or Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass, these are true heroes from fiction who actually worked their asses to reach their goals and have infinitely better personalities than any of those bland "superheroes", like Batman and Superman. Mista J
So I've recently decided to start reading up on The Riddler. Can anyone recommend me some books where he plays a large role?
darthYENIK
Just read The Walking Dead #127. Big changes following All Out War. Two years has passed. Alexandria is rebuilt, and growing. Rick has started using a hook, and still walks with a cane from his fight with Negan. Carl is a teenager, and calls Andrea "mom". Negan is still held behind bars, and Carl visits him (I assume) regularly to talk. It's only one issue into this new direction, but hopefully it changes things up enough to reinvigorate the story. Edit: Apparently it might have been more than two years. It was actually an indeterminable amout of time. I'm thinking more like four or five years.
