cutthoatish
In GTAIV, I felt like Niko ran painfully slow. In San Andreas Cj ran ridiculously fast. I understand this was probably because of how big San Andreas was and how your car could blow up in the middle of nowhere and that could get annoying. In V I hope the protags are able to run at a speed somewhere in between. Another thing I hope has improved is the agility of the characters and how they cut and change direction. What are your guys thoughts on character movement and speed. How should they improve or should they stay the same.
Homemade Dynamite
I just hope they make moving around in general easier. It was hard to steer your character the way you want, the cover system was way too sticky and jumping over fences took way too long.
JOSEPH X
I'd prefer it if when you pull back on the stick the character moved backwards, instead of turning to face the camera. They will move backwards in IV if you are aiming the weapon, but not when your weapon is free for some reason.
Maggot899
Make them a little faster than John/Jack from Red Dead and it'll be perfect I think. I think what was hard about IV was that they sort of bobbed like a buoy instead of turning when running.
ugotsmoked
I felt Niko ran fast enough and cut fast enough, he just did not accelerate fast enough.
Lil_B_The Basedgod
They should all run different. Franklin should run the fastest and be a lot more agile since he's the youngest and most athletic. Not sure about the other two

aaronimpact
I hope they fix the characters rolling, it seemed like there was a delay in IV. Make it like RDR, Max Payne.
GourangaMaster
Considering the last game R* worked on was max payne im hoping they carry over what they learned there into GTAV. I thought the animations and movements were very well done in that game.
oblivionskate
the worst was when you would pretend to surrender then run away, by the time you get going you're dead. especially when there's multiple cops around you. that animation was sssooooooo slowwww

I hated that. Other than that instance I didn't find Niko's movements to really hinder gameplay. He needed a little acceleration boost.
SeaFoam
I hope to hell it's not anything like Red Dead Redemption - The transition animation from jogging to running and the other way around was not smooth at all which led to controlling John feel awkward. I actually like / prefer Niko's running, though it can be improved.
Ermac_
I have a feeling its going to be a mix of mp3 and gta iv, by using mp3s improved movements with gta ivs improved engine. Hopefully.
Jesus Piece
I also thought the on-foot controls in IV were sort of sluggish, but Red Dead and Max Payne 3 were both way better in that regard so I'm not too worried.
cutthoatish
As some of you have said I think that it improved greatly in rdr but still needs some work. I haven't played MP3 is it comparable to rdr or are the mechanics way different?
d3ex2
Oh god, I hated how Niko moved in IV. He ran so slow and it looked like he had a stick up his ass. If you tried turning him round it took forever. John Marston was perfect, I think. Damn, redemption was perfect in many ways. V will surpass IV no problem and obviously it has to over take San Andreas but it needs to beat Redemption which will be very hard, I think. V has to over take SA and RDR to become the best games that Rockstar has ever made. SA/RDR are 1 and 2.

I want the character to move when not aiming the same way they move when aiming. The only thing with that is both of your thumbs would be needed for that so if you needed to sprint away then it would need to be a button on top instead of X (on ps3). Someone that finally agrees with me about RDR movement for characters it was HORRIBLE, it was too quick to turn and jumping was really awkward......I actually really liked the way nico moved in IV, yeah it was a little slow but in a way it made movement easier and better, I hope they stick with IV movement but just change things such as the sluggish movement when bailing out of cars then it will be perfect.
