GT3 III Engine Position

I assume this would require moving one or more of the engine dummies. Perhaps swapping the names of every part and dummy from the boot and bonnet would fix this?

theres no dummy on gta III right? maybe you are right, changing the names would work

The engine dummies are indeed present and can be found in the DFF file using Zmodeler, 3dsMax etc.

Only SA has the engine dummy. III + VC do not. You're sh*t outta luck unless you can reverse engineer the .exe to find the memory addresses for the location of the smoke.

As what Frank.s said, it's either that you leave the position as it is, or spend hours trying to find the hardcoded function for it.

It's strange, but its position is related to headlights dummy position. So you can change it with changing headlight dummy.

Other way, using patcher plugin, put these lines into .ini file:

 

; opened XYZ (+ headlight XYZ)pf 535532 -0.1 0pf 535540 -3.1 0pf 53554E  0.0 0; detached XYZ (+ headlight XYZ)pf 53555A -0.5 0pf 535568 -3.3 0pf 535576  0.0 0; BF Injection XYZf  535589 -0.1 0f  535591  0.3 0f  535599 -1.5 0

 

Notice it will change offsets for all cars, except BF Injection which has its 'own' offsets.

Making it so each vehicle will use specific position defined with some new dummy requires more advanced hacking and code replacing.
