Doommaster1994
Hello, everyone. This is my first post here, so I apologize if I've done anything wrong. I recently bought a legitimate copy of GTA: San Andreas for the PC. I run the game and after the title screen, I get the 'gta_sa has encountered a problem and needs to close. We're sorry for the inconvenience." error. I've tried everything I could find online; I uninstalled the game, reinstalled it and then restarted my computer, but that didn't work. I tried to run it in compatibility modes, but that didn't work. I tried to change the hardware acceleration, but that didn't work either. I also tried to run as an Administrator, but I can't do that since there's no password for the administrator (I'm the only user on this computer as it's my machine). I am not sure what to do now, and I'm hoping the GTA community could give me a hand, as I'd really appreciate it. Here are my computer specifications: OS: Windows XP Professional Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 Computer: AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.31 GHz, 2.00 GB or RAM Physical Address Extension I don't recall the model of my video card, but it's an ATI running on an nVidia board, and I think that may be the problem because the game's supported by nVidia, but I've been able to play all of my other games perfectly fine, so I don't think that's it. I also have Grand Theft Auto III which runs perfectly fine as well. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.
Spider-Vice
The brand doesn't matter, I also run it on an AMD/ATI graphics card. Did you try updating the graphics drivers? lil weasel
Does your duel core system have affinities? If it does set GTA: SA to "0"
Doommaster1994
Yes it does. I looked at the affinity for GTA SA and it already had CPU 0 checked and CPU 1 unchecked. I tried it with just CPU 1 and with CPU 0 and 2 at the same time but that didn't work.
