Homemade Dynamite
I've heard the driving physics will feel more like a racing game. Does that mean it will be a complete abandonment of GTA IV's driving physics? I hope not. GTA IV's driving physics took some getting used to, but you could pull of incredible twists and turns once you've mastered it. People complained about the physics without ever taking the time to getting used to it, and I'm worried that R* might be listening to them to much. Do you think the driving will have some of GTA IV's physics there with the twists and turns, or will it be completely different in this game? Agni
There have been threads over this again and again. In any case, I am in line with you in that I hope they only improve GTA IV's style instead of simplifying it.
Miss Darko
Depends on what kind of racing game they mean. Some would mean even more sophisticated driving physics, while others would mean more arcade-y driving physics. But they also referred to "running more physics" on vehicles, so that suggests the former. We'll see, perhaps the previews will go into it. LTA1992
They are improving it so that cars stick to the ground more. I think that's all they're doing to it.

MattyIce
Complimenting the worst thing about IV All respect lost for OP You fail. Easily the worst "thing" about GTA IV was a phone call from Roman.
jamieleng
Complimenting the worst thing about IV All respect lost for OP Too bad you didn't bother to get good at it. Or maybe you never had the skill in the first place. The driving in every other open world game felt shallow & arcadey in comparison.

pentaxian
even rockstar has said that cars felt too boat like (i think this was in gi) and thats why they are gonna change it up. i agree with that.
Rock Howard
Complimenting the worst thing about IV All respect lost for OP Immature attitude to state lack of respect for someone for merely having an opinion that differs from yours. The driving physics in GTA IV were actually very good and more realistic than any GTA game previous. The back of the car stepped out when you planted the throttle in a car with a decent amount of grunt because that's exactly what happens when you really drive a real car of that type. The kids bitched and moaned about this though because this fact was lost on them and they wanted to drive cars with arcade-style physics. Personally I hope the physics stay just as they were. Majestic123
People got worried when they said the guys that made the physics for Midnight Club was lead programmer for V driving. MC was horrible acrade racing.

GrandMaster Smith
I'm imagining driving physics more along the lines of Forza. Stiffer suspension, grippier tires ect.. Would all be a waste without an option for manual transmissions though imo.
djdiond
It will be live GTA IV but vastly improved. Rockstar said GTA IV was too boaty (which it is) and they will be making it more racey. This will be far better than GTA IV.

Rollin
One of the biggest improvements in IV over previous GTA's was the driving. It was a lot more fun and had more depth. Only problem with it was too much body roll that affected cars in particular. R* says they've fixed that so I'm not worried about the driving physics. GTA_freakydeaky
The driving in gtaiv were in my opinion way better than gta san andreas but like dan houser said they were a bit boat like that's all
inflamedeyeball
I've poured hundreds of hours into IV and still hate the driving, for the same reason Rockstar is improving it. I'm happy about that. I'm sure they can program something we all agree works really well; is realistic enough and fun to drive.
LHDH-EYE_
I hope it doesn't play like Gran Turismo 5 that game is trash.... They don't need to fix the driving mechanics, they need to fix the maps with the stupid potholes, random flips, broken sidewalks. The traffic is also broken in multiplayer. skyfamster
I like the driving physics in IV ,the thing I want to change(improve) is the NPC'physics, they are too soft when be hit,I think RDR did a good job on this feature.

douggoud
All of you are lying if you say the driving physics in IV are goodWait let me guess, you're also going to say IV is better than SA? No, we are not lying, it's a general consensus basically that IV's handling was far superior to all previous GTA's. You on the other hand lacked skill and came to hate it for that sole reason. Just so you know, you have the BRAKE to go around corners in the real world. Also, IV was better than SA in many aspects, and SA was better than IV is other aspects, it's ones personal opinion as to which is better, or their tastes rather, so people are free to think as such (though it has to be said, IV got a better score overall from all game review site, than SA) Edited April 28, 2013 by douggoud

ed72o
So basically IV's driving was better because it is more "realistic" IV would've been a good game if the driving was like SA P.S. Ratings are inflated in case you didn't know
douggoud
So basically IV's driving was better because it is more "realistic" IV would've been a good game if the driving was like SA No, it wouldn't of, trust me on that, you are also proving my point even more. If you bothered to learn how to drive on IV, you'd enjoy it, but I seriously doubt that you've made an effort to do so. R* was striving for realism in IV, and SA's driving physics would of killed that realism so fast that it wouldn't even be funny. You may not care for realism, but a vast majority of this fanbase does (to a certain extent). If ratings are inflated, then SA's rating was also inflated. For the record, you aren't making much sense.
