More or less info

I can see some people want to wait for the game with as little info as possible and get a huge surprise for release...and then I see some people who want to be spoonfed every single little detail for V. Which do you guys want, more info or less info?

The less I know, the bigger the surprise effect when I get my hands on this game. Honestly, I was thinking about not watching those trailers on 4.30.

Less info. For me, the only bad part is the wait. I'd rather have little info so when I get round to play the game everything is fresh to me.

I agree with the above, although I also trust R*'s marketing philosophy when it comes to the release of info. The stuff that ruined IV for me was watching leaked gameplay footage, not the previews or trailers. So I think I can watch V's trailers and read the previews without getting overly spoiled. I mean, the GI article for GTA V was apparently the largest in their publication, and it's surprising how little we actually learned from it, other than the very basics of the game, of course. What we did learn was amazing and groundbreaking to us because before that point we weren't even sure who the protagonist was, let alone knowing for sure that there were three, easily interchangeable. But that's what almost the entire article ended up talking about. So R* knows how to keep stuff close to their chest.

 

Now, the less I know, the better, that's true. Ideally, going into the game I wouldn't know anything at all other than the fact it's set in Los Santos, not even who the protagonist is. But at the same time, I don't want the wait for GTA V to be a horrible, long journey of nothing, trying to keep blacked out on everything that is released about it. It's good to have some stuff to validate the wait and keep the hype going. If you feel you're capable of waiting until September with absolutely nothing new, then by all means go do that. I just know that, personally, I don't have that kind of willpower. But I will be avoiding leaks unlike last time. And I'm pretty dead set on not seeing the map prior to release, because it's one of the most important aspects of a GTA game in my opinion. I've even been avoiding the Mapping Los Santos thread for that very reason, I feel like I've learned too much from it already. So I black out on what I feel I can, and enjoy the marketing from a developer that knows to keep their cards close to their chest.

i'd say the way they're handling it right now feels about right. its not giving too much but saying enough to keep us satisfied i guess.

I am fine with Less information. Unlike many others here, I have not had a single problem with this wait, nor the information-less droughts that came with it. When it comes to GTA and many other games, I love to be surprised.

The previews however.. I might skip a few and I probably only will read summaries. It would be great if you could warn us about some story details when posting the new infos about the previews..

 

In total I want less info. But I want more trailers which don't reveal too much about story and other parts of the map.

There is no "more info" in my opinion. They have not given us alot of info yet and I dont think these three trailers and previews included will reveal "too much" information about the game. The only time we should be worried about being spoiled is when the game leaks prior to release date.

 

After these 3 trailers and previews R* will probably hibernate until atleast july/august.
