GTA Vice City and San Andreas had classic music, while GTA IV was mostly modern music (it had some classic songs)

So what do you prefer?

IMO R*'s choice of modern rock in IV was questionable. They should put a good indie rock station in V. But classics are just as good and the last three games delivered with this. We need a good 80's station as well.

Vice City and San Andreas is classic music to us as an audience, but it was meant to be reminiscent of popular radio for each game's respective era. Every GTA has had "modern" music going by when they were set.

With V, I expect them to go the same route as IV and mimic real life radio. Modern music with some classic stuff mixed in like classic rock and jazz.

Classic, hands down. I want some good classic rock, 30-80's music, classical music. I could care less about new age, modern music. Give me my classics and I'll be more than content.

I accidentally voted "Modern", when I meant to vote "Mix of both", I think there will be more modern than classics though... Just like with GTA IV.

That's very unfortunate. As I didn't like IV's choice of music one bit. Gotta love the classics! I wouldn't mind one or two modern stations, as they would be simple to avoid. But not 60/70% of everything new age/modern..

I'm a bit on both sides here, I love the modern and I love the classics, but since the game is set in the modern times, I think there will be more modern songs than classics.

I'm getting old.. I can't stand that what people today call "music" it's torture for my ears.

Mr. Scratch

I hope you're not implying that Amon Tobin's music is torture.

So what do you prefer?

But VC and SA weren't able to have modern music, because they took place in 1986 and 1992.

So it's not exactly a fair question. tounge2.gif

Music will rise again at some point, and there's still good music out there, just not hitting the radio and tv anymore.

Electronic music is both easier, and cheaper to produce, so more interesting for labels.

At some point people will get tired of that kind of music

It's not my cup of tea but that's not what I'm referring to. I'm referring to new age electric/dubstepping/k-pop/new-age pop/ and all other bullsh*t music that makes the music-hitlists these days..

Fair enough,I agree and it always annoys me when people think electronic music is all dubstep.

I don't like dubstep one bit, to me it sounds like I walked into a workshop, instead of started listening music.

Mr. Scratch

That's exactly what it is,not to mention most of the songs are made pretty much the same.

Just turn off the radio. That's the breeding ground for sh*t music.

Good music is still being produced, you just have to look hard for it and ignore the rubbish in the charts, whereas in the 70's and 80's the good music WAS in the charts.

Vice and San Andreas had contemporary music for when they were set, V will (obviously) have the same. There might be another Flashback FM style station but it certainly won't be all classic, it's set in the modern day.

Classic wouldn't suit a current era GTA.

It fit GTA III and that was set in 2001.

You just don't hear the crap music from the 70s and 80s. Nobody will be playing crap music from today in 30/40 years either, people then will think our music was brilliant.

And why is that? Plenty of people even youngsters prefer the classics over todays sad excuses for music.

Blasphemy! One does not simply go around calling 70's 80's classics "CRAP".

This and there should be stations that fit the character. Like in TLAD, Liberty Rock and TBOGT, Elecctro Choc. That being said, what kind of music would Trevor listen to?

I want to see a modern metal station. Not that stupid sh*t from LCHC. Some Lamb of God, The Black Dahlia Murder, maybe some good ole classic Slipknot. I want a country station with classic country for the countryside, a pop station with sh*t like The Backstreet Boys (older 2000-2006 pop for the sake of nostalgia) for cruising the beach, a new and improved WCTR (I f*cking loved that radio station), and... well that's all I personally want. Oh, and a classic rock station, modern rock (not metal) station, and I guess techno (even though I will never listen to it)
