6 Hours later...

When you're busted or wasted in GTA IV, you end up in front of the hospital or police office 6 hours later.

Why 6 hours?

I hope in GTA V it will be more random.

not sure but they should add a bigger hospital with stuff to do in it. In gta4 all i would do was shoot everyone before they ran out the door and kill the people laying down on those beds.

Paper Mario

Hospital needs time to make you better! Cops are asses and keep you in their cells for 6 hours after they have taken your weapons and fined you.

I think 6 hours is about right. Don't have a problem with it.

It should depend on how badly you get f*cked up.

Like if you fall out of a helicopter, get hit by a train, then set on fire... it should be a day, maybe two before you get out, but it shouldn't interfere with mission play.

Agreed - If it were 12 hours then people would moan that night and day happen to quickly, if it were for 2 hours then people would moan that they DONT see night and day much...

6 hours is fine. Anything else would be wrong.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

I don't personally see the problem with 6 hours passing after getting busted or wasted... It's just the correct amount of time.

Seriously, why is he gaming 'wrongly', if people will moan about not seeing day and night? (because they will moan)

Why does it really matter? It doesn't affect anything anyway

Agree. It's only functional because it shows time has passed. There never were any real dates that passed anyway, you could play for 365 virtual days without having a new year's eve, for example tounge.gif So it says six hours, but there is no way to check, it might as well be 1 day and 6 hours, 1 week and 6 hours, you wouldn't know.

Since Rockstar loves to make cutscenes, maybe they could make some time-lapse cutscenes that run about 30 or 40 seconds, that shows activity in the hospital or jail where you go, after which you pop back out on the street 6 hours (or whatever interval) later. It would be a compressed-time cutscene representing the time spent inside.

In the hospital, the cutscene would show the protag wheeled into ER and all the doctors and nurses running around and doing tests, X-rays and MRI, protag bandaged up and in traction in hospital bed in hospital gown with IV and pulse-ox readout, then zipping around hospital corridors in a wheelchair, getting back into streetclothes and picking up all his weapons, paying the bill and walking out the door back onto the street, where the view and control returns to normal player mode.

In the jail, similar speed-up time-lapse cutscene, the protag gets shoved up to the desk in the police station by the cops and booked, occasional punch to the gut or whack on the head, gets searched and probed and changed into prison orange, tossed in a cell and then walked out the exercise yard, gets in a fight with several other cons and beats them all up, tossed back in the cell, then led out to change back to civilian clothes, gets smacked around some more by the cops, then shoved outside to the street, where the view and control returns to normal player mode.

That would be more interesting than the simple fade to black and would show a representation of the time passed, without taking up too much more game time before you can go back to playing. I suppose you could bypass the cutscenes after seeing them 9and any variations) a couple of times.

My name is Deba and I approve of this idea lol, but yeah that would be pretty slick but make sure they give you the option to skip the cut scene who wants to watch 30 to 40 seconds every time you get busted or wasted and have like 4 or 5 different cut-scenes for each scenario just to keep it different.

Like in Red Dead where dude sits in a cell with this "I f*cked up this time" look on his face, and you see time go by out the window, then you get released? Wouldn't be too bad.

I am more concerned with never getting busted. Surrender should not be an option.

It just feels traditional. Been like that since III and maybe even longer.

Yeah, a short prison cutscene/timelapse every time you get arrested would be cool.
