pentaxian
No offense dude. But with your lurid obsession on violence, you really sound like a serial killer in disguise right now. Like, I'm starting to think that there's some hooker's dead body inside of your closet. I have a feeling someone should probably call the police on you right now. Either that or your so puerile that you need unnecessary violence in GTA just to keep going through it. seriously. what i care more about is good gameplay. sure, things could use a little more realism, but actually being upset at how characters in the game who arent being stone cold enough is a little much... i think what rockstar is trying to achieve is an immersive world, not one to play out your genocide fantasies with an invincibility cheat on. sam houser has said that they always want the player to be at the mercy of the cops/law enforcement cuz thats reality. Ant_On_Sugar
I would not want slow motion zoom ins of bullets as that would take away from the realism. It was acceptable for Sniper Elite because that game was all about sniping and precision. But it would be a nice touch to see clear distinctive deep bullet holes in heads/faces/bodies/limbs. It would be excellent if more powerful guns like shotguns and M60/Mini Guns actually blew heads right apart and took legs and arms off and split bodies clean in two - like in the most recent Rambo film. This is just more realistic it's as simple as that. For every time I blast the legs of a person with a shotgun in GTA IV I am reminded how fake this virtual reality appears to be. In fact, more realistic gunshot wounds/damage would only add to the game play. For example: Many times I have shot a cop (shooting me) in the knees with a shotgun, he falls, then a few seconds later he's up again and shooting at me again. Now that's bloody annoying. Same thing when they're shot in the shoulder or hands/chest etc. Maybe what the makers don't realise is that they are actually promoting 'overkill' over the top kills, because you learn to shoot your enemies/targets many more times than would be necessary in reality. Just like some punk of the street who didn't know the man who's head he was stomping would become brain dead because he watched to many rubber head Rocky movies and thought a brain could surely take it. If R* is trying use GTA to teach anything: it should be how fragile life actually is - that a person can actually die from a kick in the balls, or a punch in the solarplexus, let alone a shotgun blast. The problem with the reduction of violence is the citizens and police force in GTA IV have become like superhuman zombies. How many times I have unloaded a full clip medium range from an assault rifle on a target only to knock the down or momentarily stagger them, then they're back to their feet and shooting you or running away again. In reality if someone takes a bullet it's gonna really mess them up, a lot of pain, blood and helplessness. There could at least be a 'one shot kill' cheat as in the punisher. This would make things a little more realistic, at least for head shots and chest shots. One time I shot a police man with the shotgun before he even got out of the car and his brains sprayed all over the shattered windscreen, yet then he got out and started shooting me as I was killing his partner. Shooting me as if he wasn't even wounded. My wife was watching at the time (she never plays computer games) and she even commented: "What the hell? Why's he still alive?" to which I replied: "Because this game is fake and full of $..." GTA IV had some good points, the graphics of the city were very nice, but the violence and damage to people doesn't match this level of realism which makes it stand out even more as fake. I would suggest if it is not possible to make the game violent enough with super fine graphics, the tone the graphics down a notch to just a bit above San Andreas and bring back the gore. PS - Assuming someone is a serial killer because they long for a super violent video game is puerile, and calling the cops would fall under wasting police time. I've nothing against hookers or women at all. But I don't like 'big mouths', doesn't mean I have any in my closet though.
