I was excited for Watch Dogs, until I started playing Assasins Creed from the beginning recently. Then I figured it was just a modern day rip off of it, with hacking as the theme. There is nothing new involved and we have probably already seen every unique feature it has to offer.

Yea it is amazing, but expected I assume. When in fact most are not even old enough to buy the game. I wouldn't think someone in there mid 20's or early thirties would say things like Watch Crap 1, the game's sales will be an ant compared to V, or degrade something in general. Imagine some of these people in real life, in the real world.

 

Competition is good, some people don't even realize that a game like other open world games drive the devs to be better and make better games for us. In the end, the gamers win. Then again most will buy both.

Watch dogs looks like it will get boring VERY fast. After you beat the story mode, it'll just sit on the shelf and collect dust. Little or no replay value. I personally don't like sci fi games. They're not very appealing to me

I always love the opportunity to give V a perfect score. It seems really stupid how people don't give GTA enough attention/credit. R* work very, very hard on their games with the utmost quality, never annualizing/bi-annualizing any of their IPs because they want to prove that they won't sink down to other developers' levels and give in to the evil ways of them. AC was Ubisoft's best game, so they annualized it. CoD was EAs best game, so they annualized it. But R* will never annualize GTA, even though it would rival CoD's sales if they did.

 

As for WD, it is my second most hyped game ever. It looks absolutely amazing, and I know more details about it than most people here since I've followed every piece of info about it for the past 6 months. It seems very promising, however in the end, WD is a risky new IP whereas GTA is already established as my favourite game franchise, which is why I didn't give WD a vote. GTAV has come too far to be bested by the new guy. I will love GTAV no matter what, but WD still has that risk -- that potential to disappoint. Plus, I don't have ~2800 posts in 1 year on a V forum for nothing. I've spent lots of my life here in the last 1.5 years -- I've never been so hyped for anything; GTAV has single-handedly completely changed my perspective of video games as a whole.

Watch dogs looks good. But I have an underlying feeling that its mostly gimmick. Like the first AC. The previews made it look like a medevil GTA assassin game. But it was very repetitive. We won't know til it's out obviously.

Dude, I believe that the way we think is similar in a lot of ways. Ever single point you made: I agree with.

 

The main reason I went for GTAV is because, well, I anticipate it more. I have never anticipated anything else like I am with GTAV.

 

I first came here in March; registered in June 2011, during the 'Genesis' time. But I moved on. Then GTAV got announced on October 25; I have been here for almost every single day since! I know it isn't a healthy thing to do, but I can't help it.

I'm with you there. By 2015 Ubijoking will probably be releasing Watch Dogs 4. Can't believe people can get so excited by a game with no track record, other than looking like Assassin's Creed set in the near future. There is absolutely no way it will live up to the hype, I guarantee it. Or maybe all the new features they were going to implement in the AC franchise, have been transferred over to WD. Maybe that will explain why the franchise has hardly evolved since AC2.

 

The Last of Us is looking incredible, almost next-gen visuals & movie quality voice acting. As long as the actual gameplay is on par, it will be incredible.
