d0mm2k8
As a kid I was very much into Marvel and grew up with that sh*t. But as I've grown up I've preferred the darker and more complex nature of DC (most notably Batman), though the recent resurgence of Marvel films in the form of the Movie Universe is very good (at least compared to the sh*te before Iron Man 1 came out). As an average of their respective heroes I love Marvel's but DC has some characters I really can't get into, but DC is better if simply not because of Batman. It's f*cking Batman damn it. Th3MaN1
I just can't understand why the f*ck people don't like both. I'm not talking about everyone, just the majority. I'm sure most of you grew up with at least 1 DC and 1 Marvel hero.
UrbanTheEmcee
DC Comics started this Superhero thing. DC > Marvel Superman (Movies/TV/Comics/Merchandise) Icon Batman (Movies/TV/Comics/Merchandise) Icon Wonder Woman (Most Well Known Female Hero Period/TV/Comics/Merchandise) Icon These are the three most Iconic Superhero's of all time. The closet Marvel character to them is Spiderman. Even with the failure of the Green Lantern Movie, his comic was number one selling world wide for like six years straight. Green Lantern (vol. 4 / 2005 -2011) They don't have movies or TV shows, but tell me one person who doesn't know who The Flash & Aquaman are. Did I mention DC has WAY better villains. I mean WAY better. Joker, The Riddler, Bane, Two Face, Black Mask, Killer Croc, Penguin, Mr. Freeze, Raz Al Ghul, Red Hood, Scarecrow, Deathstroke, Jason Todd, Hush, etc... Lex Luthor, Darkseid, General Zod, Brainiac, Doomsday, Bizzaro, Superboy Prime, Metallo, etc... Sinestro, Attrocitus, Parallax, Kronas, Black Hand, Hector Hammond, Star Sapphire, Larfleeze, etc... Those are just Batman's, Superman's, and Green Lanterns villains. DC's stories are better, the characters have been handled better over the years, their graphic novels sh*t all over Marvels, and The Justice League is the number one team in comic history period. Justice League > The Avengers/X-Men/Fantastic Four I grew up on both brands. I loved Marvel as a Kid because of the cartoons X-Men & Spiderman. They made me love them again as a teen because of the movies X-Men & Spiderman. I also grew up watching Adam West as Batman. I didn't like the animated series when I was younger, but I came back to it as an adult and it's great. Superman the animated series was always my favorite. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is I'm not a fanboy, I just enjoy DC's comics so much more than I do Marvels. It is still my un-bias opinion that DC is more Iconic than Marvel. Marvel is at it's peak now with the movies, but DC can fail for 50 years, and still Superman & Batman would be more popular than any Marvel character period. Loman
I am a fan of both, I grew up watching max fleisher's superman, lou ferrigno's hulk, Batman:TAS, X-Men:TAS,the dozen or so Spiderman series, FF, Super Friends, Tim Burton's Batman movies, etc, etc... But, TBH, the only actual comics I read are marvel.
Jriv
Ya I mean I guess the reason is cause I had like grew up reading marvel which I feel is why I like it better than DC. K^2
DC > Marvel Sorry, but DC has Batman and Superman, the two most iconic and culturally significant superheroes ever created. Because they both have the depth of a bird bath. DC might be better at feeding the masses with tripe, but Marvel does things that are actually interesting. The only exception to all of this is the Batman Arkham series, and I understand that DC had very little to do with the success. Clem Fandango
The thing I hate most about DC is that it's always a smart, forward thinking guy with a plan getting foiled, beaten and imprisoned by a pseudo-military muscle man draped in red, white and blue. I'm sure it's got nothing to do with the Red Scare. Also DC generally makes no sense. Batman won't execute the joker- putting thousands of lives at risk- but statistically at least a few hundred mob goons and underprivileged kids in clown make up have smacked their head on the ground when Batman kicking and punching them and throwing them off bridges. Also keep in mind that he's motivated by the death of his obscenely ich parents, which only happened because his father decided to try to beat up the desperate man on the edge who tried to steal his wife's pearls. Seriously, this guy probably lost his job due to the Depression, and she has unlimited resources to buy more pearls. Katie Willert from Cracked put it well: "Gotham doesn't need a protector, it needs comprehensive socio-economic reform." Zook
Doc Rikowski
Most iconic and culturally significant superhero is once again [fanboy]Spiderman[/fanboy]. "With great power comes great responsibility" basically sums up why Marvel is better than DC. X-Men too are great.

PinkRibbonScars
I like Marvel's MCU movies and DC's animated flicks. NileshKumar
I know I am a bit five years too early but... DC comics are much better but when it comes to movies, DC is no match for Marvel (ignore Joker 2020)... Avengers series were made with absolute perfection....But the Justice League was poorly depicted. Similarly,The Dark Knight was simply epic....I really liked the way Heath Ledger played joker (but unfortunate for him)...I think he did better than Joaquin Phoenix.... Now, Infinity War and Endgame were masterpieces..So will the next movies be... Personally speaking, I am interested only in (or mostly in) Batman and Joker (for DC, and all their allies) and Thor,Doctor Strange,Scarlett Witch,Wolvie,DP and many more.... Nappy
Not interested in Marvel in anyway. I was interested in some comics but movies are mostly covered by garbage jokes so it's been dead for too long to me. I mostly read Batman cuz I find some seriousness in em. As Marvel comics I only read Avengers VS X-Men which was "alright". As much as I disliked BvS in the past, i'll take it over Marvel movies any day because of the serious style(aside from Martha scene, f*ck that). Marvel's worst movie should be thor's final movie: Which is absolute garbage, things hardly make sense and you can hardly see a scene without sh*ty lame jokes. Plot existed for five minutes when the jokes stopped then it went to being garbage again. BvS' ending had a bit potential, could be good if Snyder didn't leave and JL could have had some serious stuff instead of "Do you talk to fish?". Everyone except Superman is Batman level in that movie(power wise). Anot her thing is, acting f*ckin sucks which i'll never get. Did they rush it cuz Snyder left, wtf is that? Nolan movies and MoS are amazing. Soundtrack of em also masterpieces, I was never a big fan of score in Marvel movies. I choose DC Overall. My favorite DC Comics: -The Long Halloween -Joker (by Brian Azzarello & Lee Bermejo) -(Flashpoint) Knight of Vengeance Edited March 14, 2020 by Payne added a word

Dark Spark
The MCU has made a mark in the world and left an lasting impression... ... the trouble is that this impact has deepened into a rut they can't seem to get out of. They have a formula (origin story upon yet another origin story). They have flaws they don't fix (forgettable, disposable villains). New material is pulled and warped under the weight of all the old history. This is now a moment of crisis, and the question is how will they stay good for the foreseeable future? You should watch the Marvel Netflix shows Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher and Iron fist. They are a lot more darker than the MCU movies and have long interesting plots. I'm sad that Netflix decided to cancel them all around the time when the Disney plus rumors started. I hope Disney finds a way to bring them back on Hulu or Disney plus.
