ozzolins
Hello everybody! I finally got powerful enough PC to play GTA IV, and now would be the time to do so.. But GTA IV doesn't recognize my GPU, it uses Intel HD graphics 4000. I have a laptop Acer Aspire V3-771G: Intel i7-3630QM 2.4GHz (6MB cache) NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M 4GB DDR3 8GB DDR3 RAM 750GB HDD I get: Warning: your graphics settings are near, or exceed the suggested resource limit for your system,it is recommended that you reduce your graphics settings in order to play the game optimally. 289/4031MB Then I ran the GTA IV benchmark tests: StatisticsAverage FPS: 43.23 Duration: 37.17 sec CPU Usage: 65% System memory usage: 46% Video memory usage: 8% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1600 x 900 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Low Render Quality: Low View Distance: 1 Detail Distance: 1 Hardware Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 Video Adapter: Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Video Driver version: 9.18.13.717 Audio Adapter: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) Intel® Core i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz File ID: benchmark.cli As you can see, it shows that I have Intel HD Graphics 4000 not GF GT 730M. Some screenshots below.. I'm desperate. I don' t know what to do..
luceberg
There is an easy fix for this, which I don't remember! Think it is to use the commandline -nomemrestrict, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. Also, update your graphics card drivers.
unc13bud
i remember it being as the optimus bug - whenever intel and nvidia graphic chipsets on same motherboard. i agree, most people (here) have said they fixed it by updating all drivers
ikt
Try enabling the context menu options for Optimus and then launch the game using the nVidia GPU in the context-submenu.
Vincent Johnson
it's because GTA4 can't recognize video memory over 3GB you can use a commandline.txt file to solve this problem
