I for one will not be switching protags if I get stranded out in the wilderness.

Making your way back to the city/civilization would be hella fun.

Same here, middle of the day, scorching heat, miles from anywhere, those are some vibes I have to experience. I bet there will be plenty to see via random encounters as there was in RDR.

Call an ambulance and steal the vehicle if you don't wish to walk back ... rolleyes.gif

I remember a game informer video where they said, out in the desert they came across a couple cars with dead bodies all around from a drug deal gone bad. It was one of the random events. So I'd think things like this happen so your not stranded for long.

Yeah I remember that. It will be far from boring.

I would quite like to get stranded.

Just imagine:

- Stuck in the middle of the woods, or desert. It's night time and pitch black, no moon, just a load of stars scattered like shiny, silver pepper across the sky.

- Car is broken down. You can get in it, but the lights are ridiculously dim and the engine refuses to start.

- No cellphone reception.

- The nearest road is just 500m away, but you have to scale two whole hills to get there.

- Little animals and nocturnal birds whiz around you.

- A gentle breeze blows around your surroundings.

You would be able to appreciate certain places so much more.

This sounds like the beginning of the text "Adventure" version of GTAV. That would be an interesting exercise - a GTAV in text. smile.gif Maybe such a game would last 5 years, until the next GTA comes out.

- Players can switch between these characters at any time when they are off mission.

Right and I remember reading that at the time and most people ( myself included ) seemed to feel they would take that feature out. Otherwise it is way too easy to escape the cops.

Are you being legitimate here? Did/do you genuinely think that 'most people' felt that they would remove this feature? I've never even heard of that opinion until this post (I only recall most people assuming that you won't be able to switch when you're wanted, before it was confirmed). So you're not trolling?

I'm guessing we'll get a friend character to bring us a car/give a ride. Also there are cheats, and you can switch characters.

For players like me, I'll be walking until a 'solution' manifests itself. But I don't want to force my way of playing on others at all.

There will probably always be a road somewhere nearby. It's not like you will be forced to walk back to the city.

This I why I am not extremely fond of switching characters at any time.

When I play a game I want to feel like I am living their life, not just "oh you're in a bad situation, im switching, bye"

Then don't play that way??

I agree and won't be bailing on any of the characters, like a buster, when sh*t might start sucking.

But if others want to play that way it's fine by me.

Imagine staying in the desert for too long you get dehydrated and you start having hallucinations and you see oasis's but its not there

It's California not the Sahara.

I live in the area where Blaine County is modeled after. It gets over 110 degrees during the summer

"Oh no I'm dehydrating, need water. Oh look there's Alamo Sea."

Give me a break.

I live in lake Havasu city. It gets up to 115 here. But it's called lake Havasu city for a reason.
