Maximus Prime
I was wondering what would happen if you were off on a joy ride away in the wilderness and your vehicle blows up, or you drive it into water, or you parachute from out of a plane and you land in the middle of nowhere. In RDR you could whistle for your horse to come get you, but I'm highly doubting rockstar will include a whistle for a new vehicle feature. What do you think they are doing to fix this? Or are you hoping for a somewhat more realistic approach where you are screwed if you get stranded? I personally think they should have the ability to add a taxi service to the contacts in your phone, or a car repair service if your car is damaged, but not blown up yet that can drive to your general location to help you out, for a fee of course. DarkDayz
This is one of the reasons you are able to switch character. Easy solution. Plus flagging taxi's like IV, no doubt when in the city. Being able to ring them when in the desert would be a good way to get them to you fast without being unrealistic.

Maggot899
Well, calling someone for a car might be a possibility. I imagine if you're playing as Trevor and you get stranded that you'd be able to call up Michael or Franklin and ask for a ride or something. You could also just switch to another character, but I think I'd like to walk and take in the environment.
Paper Mario
I'd just walk and search for roads, then wait and steal a vehicle but also killing the person I steal it from.

killahmatic
Just steal a car that's driving by. Also, in RDR if you were stranded too long a random event would occur to allow you to steal someones horse/stagecoach or lasso a wild horse, so it wouldn't be too surprising that if you're in the desert near a road, the game understands to make cars spawn or random events to give you the option to steal one. What bothered me in IV was being stranded in the ocean. You couldn't use a cellphone to enter a cheat or even swim underwater too long and die... you had to swim ALL the way back to land. Sea water is salt so you'll only get more thirsty... Nope, we need to find a realistic steak house and ask for some bacon juice.

RoadRunner71
You will have to survive like Bear Grylls; camp inside a camel, drink your own urine and eat rattlesnakes and raw eggs.
Agni
If I get really far out in the desert with no car, I am going to try getting back to Los Santos on my own two feet. Sounds like a fun little free-roam challenge.
Maximus Prime
I want some kind of ridiculous walking achievement or trophy to be in the game... like walk from the vespucci beach pier to the top of mount chilliad without running or jogging. I'd be up for that.
