DS 17
If I am 60 and want to play a game, I will play it. I don't care what others are thinking. I do what I want to do and if someone doesn't like it he just have to ignore it. I'm 20 yrs old, but if I want to do something not in my age generally I do it anyway. Don't care. How about you ask someone in that section, as that's where you're most likely to find modders? Please don't sideline an interesting thread with something irrelevant. AuSsIeThUnDeR36
My problem is how do I get to play GTA V without my wife pestering me. Maybe I should chain her to the kitchen sink. Extreme measures sure, but it has to be done. BE A MAN. Just tell her that it's either this, or you're going to sit around watching porn. She'll hand the controller over pretty rapidly. Good suggestion. My wife and I do enjoy playing Ps3 together. We used to play a bit of San Andreas together but she gets turned off with all the gang stuff. We play a bit of Tiger Woods golf now and then she likes the golf games. I bet she'll sit down with me and see what V is like after all this long wait but I bet it won't last long. I need to make a pact with her and say 'look hun, this is when I'm playing the game between these hours so either join in or leave me the f*ck alone for a few hours.' She hates it when I start talking about gta five so I can't even have a conversation with her about it. I did say to her though that I've waited bloody long time to get the game so she needs to give me at least a few hours to myself to enjoy it. I even offered her a whole day relaxation/spa/massage package deal so I can have the day to myself.

I'm very lucky though, my lady has learned to love video games under her own terms. She has, occasionally, pre-ordered and paid for games for me so that she can watch them being played. She'd rather experience them like a movie than a game, so I get a lot of play time. She's actually pretty good at games but prefers a more passive experience, which is great for me. ReliantRodney
I am 17 years old and am considered underage to play a videogame. Despite this, I'm about to start a career in the military. f*ck logic. Plus, you're going to hear all those bad words in boot camp Good luck. I know, I'm not sure I'll be able to handle it. Actually I'd be old enough in the US I believe (17+) but in the UK it's 18. Regarding the military, in the UK it's 16, US it's 18(?). It seems the priorities are severely confused. Wow mate, you're on a winner there. Yeah my wife bought me the new TW14 Masters Edition which was nice so she's not all that bad. She just doesn't like gta that much and me going on about what it might be like. Sometimes she'll listen but a lot of the time it's 'Enough! I don't want to hear it!' I remember once though we got into a good conversation about future V related titles and she suggested maybe Rockstar will release 'Volume Packs' which have additional missions that can extend the storyline further. Like an add on feature that shows more of what happens at the end of the main storyline. She can have good ideas sometimes.

Papi Chulo
I'm grown man now. But back then I was a kid in Middle School when San Andreas released. Lady at the game stop was bad mouthing the game, telling my momma the game was bad influence & had very explicit content. Moms bought it anyway. Throughout the years it was taken away from me on numerous occasions. So I played it low key when nobody was home.
CalgaryJay
haha I can tell I'm getting older (turn 30 this year), because when I first read your thread title I interpreted it the other way around. I thought this was gonna be about being in your 30's or older and having to hide the fact you're cracking out on a video game.
Revolution-XW
I played Vice when I was like 7-9 I believe, who has time to care about a harmful video game..? I feel bad for those who do, though.
Cebra
Lol. I was 7 when I played my first GTA in 2001, and that would be GTA III. My dad got it for me because I loved cars, and very soon after I realized what I could do in the game. I've had every GTA since.
evilchimotoki
Well my dad bought vice city for me when I was 7 and when he saw me playing it, he thought it was an awesome game. So I don't think I would have any problemswith it if I was still underage
killahmatic
When Vice City came out I was roughly 13, I never played it in secret. Generally speaking, I think many parents can tell if their teenage kids are mature enough to play these games or not, and base their rules on that. Honestly though, this is an odd topic to make for someone who's apparently around 29 years old. Who cares?

My Mom and Dad let me get GTA IV, but when they saw how violent it was, they took it away from me. So I beat them both into a coma with a baseball bat and torched the house with a Molotov. deadofthesean
I played all the violent video games of my day (Mortal Kombat , Robocop V Terminator etc) and ever single GTA. I'm ages with the OP but found that I had to hide music CDs from my parents but they didn't give a sh*t about the games I was playing

Special Members
I turned 15 in January. My mom and dad are divorced, and my mom has always been strict when it came to 18 rated games (I`m from Norway, and we have PEGI here), and she wouldn`t let me play 16 rated games before I was like 13. I was alwys jealous of my friends, who parents didn`t give a f*ck what they played. A friend of my who was just 8 years old was also allowed to play Vice City and San Andreas. Some of my friends usually played MW2 at my house, and I was always worried of my mom coming in. I downloaded San Andreas from the internet when I was 14, and usually played it with the sound turned off. But recently my mom has finally given in, and let me have IV and LA Noire. But after me and my friend played MW3 infront of my 6 year old little brother, she took IV away from me. I have yet t get it back. My dad on the other hand, never gave a sh*t. He is soon in his 50s, and he still plays many online war games on his PC with some American guys. When I was in Denmark, when I was 10, I played Liberty City Stories, and when my dad came in just when I sliced off the head of an old lady with a katana, he just laughted. He eve once asked me when I was 12 when I was going to start play GTA and COD. I will probably beg GTA V from my mom and get IV back, since I am usually at her. That is my experience with it. Rock Howard
It's not appropriate for kids to be playing GTA games because the brain of a child is not ready to process, comprehend or understand a lot of the subject matter the games contains. Plain and simple. It's the same reason kids shouldn't be watching a Quentin Tarantino movie or anything else suitable for adults only. 16 plus age group? That's different but there has to be a line with games that have the type of content that GTA games have. Of course the kids (and there are plenty) on this forum will argue the usual "OMFG R U FOR REAL? KIDZ CAN PLAY GTA GAMEZ AND NOT BE AFFECTED AND WON'T BECOME CRIMINALZ! WHATEVA! MY MUM AND DAD LETS ME DO WHAT I WANT!" case until they are blue in the face, the same blue their face would have turned when they were in their local game store stamping their feet in a teary tantrum at age 8 or whatever demanding mum or dad buy them GTA with mum, dad or whoever they were with giving in, but it won't change the fact that the material and activities in GTA games is simply not appropriate for kids to be engaging in. I carjacked the couple next door as they were leaving for a movie, drove them out to the styx, and ran them over with their own car. So now I'm living in their house, playing GTA IV. Problem solved. These games have not affected me at all.
