Did this game get a mid night pickup at Gamestop? I got a text saying I can pick up at 12:01 am on 10-14-14. If so, I had no idea it was going to be. Gaining steam?

It's hard to believe this game is so demanding, after all, not the best graphics in the world and linear nature of the game, and still the most demanding game to date ?, i think i stay away from pc version. A game like that should have less, i mean much less demanding requirements.

30 fps lock on the PC? Awesome. More money in my pockets.

 

They can be unlocked at will. Bethesda said they will provide a codelist with the game to PC players so they can tweak extra settings such removing the 30fps lock.

Still on the fence about this game, it's currently a few dollars off on the PSN store which I'm sure will go away come midnight.. seeing a few reviews giving it a 8 so far

Maybe it's not a horror, but it's a comedy :) LOL I swear, each time i see those system requirements ...... it's laughable when you see graphics of the game

Got the game. It's pretty nice so far.

 

Sadly it relies too much on GPU power, I've got an R9 270x and I can max it out, but in wide open areas FPS turn down to 20-30 (mostly upper 20's). In closed areas it goes up to 45-55.

 

 

BTW to remove the black borders and remove the FPS cap you need a trainer, said trainer also allows you to have free camera, infinte ammo and some more features.

 

 

I've got the trainer if anyone's in need. Just ask me via PM :)

I purchased on PS4 and I have to say I'm not dissapointed. I've died alot too. LOL. Its not Resident Evil and for good reason. It has a enemy vision system like Thief produced in there last game. It also has a teleportation through "mirrors" that takes you back and forth between two settings in time, possibly more settings further on in the game. I only got 53 min. into the first level. It does let you melee enemies as well, maybe not all of them but most so far that I can tell. Ammo/bullets are hard to come by, every shot counts. Sometimes it takes multiple head shots too, not just a single shot to kill an enemy. Alot of sites were complaining that the graphics weren't that great. I have yet to see it. Looks fantastic.

It looks pretty damn good to me so far except from some textures that look outdated some times. FPS in exteriors get just in the edge of playable (24-30)

Have not got the game but the trailers do remind me of those god awful horror film trailers you get aimed at teenage girls

 

Some people have complained of game being low quality graphics when compared to system requirements - is this true?

I mean to me the game looks good on PS4. I thought the same thing before I played it b/c some reviews commented about it. My whole thing is they complain about it, but my question to them is "looks bad compaired to what".

To me most of these next Gen titles look amazing. I don't know what there complaining about. The other day I watched someone play GTAV on a PS3 on a twenty or so inch 720p 60 hrtz. off brand Tv. If you would have watched it after seeing next gen. games on a nice tv since Nov. Now that's something to complain about. LOL

I finally got this game today and played the first 2 chapters. The controls are a bit clunky(in a good way) and the graphics are not the best but it's nowhere annoying. The first cutscenes i saw are nowhere near next gen more like early last gen. Also lots of ugly textures and some technical issues. But the gameplay itself is fun,the atmosphere is top notch especially when you play this game with headphones.

 

So far there was no wow factor for me because most of the first chapters were already shown in the (gameplay)trailers. I'm looking forward to play the rest of this game.

 

 

P.s playing this game on ps4.

I got this last night. It's OK, I'm finding it slow and to be honest a little bit lame. I'm not sure but I think it's because Outlast set the bar so high for me in terms of horror and atmosphere. I just got to the bit with the lighthouse. The camera I just can't get used to-it's so f*cking close and and contantly just have bushes covering my view. I'll give in another 4-6 hours and see how I go. But definitely will be taking it back within 7 days to get my money's back.

You can modify the FOV, also remove black bars, but only on PC.

Bought the game for my Xbox One. Haven't played it yet. Also purchased Alien Isolation. I got to the 5th level of Alien Isolation, but noticed that during the cinematics, the frame rate considerably dropped and the cinematics were really choppy and stuttery. So, I deleted my saved data, as I don't want to play the game when the cut scenes are all choppy, as that just kills the immersion and ruins the experience for me. I'm waiting for a patch to fix these issues for Alien Isolation, until then, I'm not playing the game.

So, are there any technical issues for this game? I really hope not. Does it play smoothly?

 

Edit - there seems to be a bunch of technical issues. Low frame rate (dropping below 30 on consoles) and horrible native resolution. 768 for PS4 and 640 for the Xbox One! What the hell? The game is using the id Tech 5 engine, which is probably the reason why this game's graphic performance is so poor. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the id Tech 5 engine is extremely old and just really outdated. Time to get rid of that engine. Now, there was an update/patch when I installed the game yesterday, so I don't know if that fixed any performance issues. Anyone know what the patch fixed?

Okay update: I put in another 5 or so hours today and I'm liking it much more than I did last night, maybe I was just tired. I really can't wait to find out what the f*ck is going on. I hope there's a decent explanation and doesn't finish and have us wondering "what the f*ck just happened".

Yeah I just learnt that when I had to kill

chainsaw psycho the second time. What a f*cking bitch that was, took me like twenty tries.

 

Needed to get every last bullet I could get, also found a grenade.

Yeah i just figured that out during chapter 3 by accident. This game is pretty intense and hard. After every chapter i'm relieved that i made it lol.
