I thinkng "Sleeping Dogs" would be a geat example of doing it right. The system in that game is simple and not overly crazy (No runing up a entire building via AC),my favorite implimentation (sp?) of free-running (or just plain badass-ness) is the action hijacks in SD. This statement is illustrating that you think 'doing backflips' qualifies as parkour. That is called free running.
