Cazzer14
There doesn't need to be 'parkour' in it, not at all, it wouldn't suit the game, the location or the protagonists. But some new, more fluid animations for vaulting, running and climbing and improvements on the existing ones would be helpful. I enjoyed Sleeping Dog's movement system, but even that might be a little 'parkour'-y for GTA. I just want to be able to slide over the bonnets of cars and vault low-riding ones (and even that's been semi-confirmed in the trailer (granted, that may be a cutscene)), and be able to cleanly vault over low obstacles, that's it. BlackNoise
By definition, you have not, because Parkour is the 'art' of running and negotiating your surrounds, not fighting. Running away is the opposite of f*cking fighting, did you never go to school and learn about fight or flight? Fight: GTA Flight: Parkour. Most people probably don't play like you. It's cool if you only want to fight, but some of us like running away from the cops sometimes. Police chases are fun. It doesn't really make sense to say, "Fight: GTA" because R* creates missions where they tell you to run away from the cops sometimes. And what made you jump to saying "running = running away". The art of running has nothing to do with escaping unless that's the situation you're in. It would be cool if there were faster and more creative ways to run, so I would like some parkour mechanics. If nothing else, I hope Franklin can hop the fences realistically since he's from the hood.
Guest
I'd love parkour! IV felt kind of bland because you were limited to the ground and very basic climbing. I want to see a structure and think "I can climb that, pull out a sniper and have a good playing point" It would add a vertical sense to the map. IV was very horizontal. And the protags should atleast be able to climb higher things. There were things in IV that Niko couldn't climb and I probably could! Hope we can slide down railings too. Would make stairs more exciting lol. Infact, parkour would be cool for some stylish kills. How about sliding down a railing in a skyscraper, smashing through the window, grabbing onto a lampost, swinging around it shooting guys with an SMG! XD Would also make MP less predictable. BullworthAcademy
There is parkour. PSM3 article states You've always been able to access rooftops and clamber up hillsides in GTA, but now, perhaps inspired by upstarts like Batman and Assassin's Creed, GTA V is more subtly layered than its predecessors. I hope they actually mean that. Hope this applies to vehicles too! If driving was a little more Burnout-esque, not in handling, but in rooftop accesibility, that would be awesome. Mr Mann
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! This isn't Assassin's Creed. Parkour is just a new videogame fad. Maybe michael and Co could hide in a bale of hay as well to escape a wanted level?

DarkDayz
No, nobody should include Parkour in their game, not even Rockstar. Because there is no way it can ever be better than this. And don't even mention anything by Ubisoft, climbing a building is not Parkour.

goh13
The most I wish for is being able to silde on the hood of some cars. Any more than that and R* has to sh*t a out a good reason why all 3 protags can Assassin Creed this bitch. It does not fit GTA world, too. Watch Dogs has it, I think. Maybe you should have a look at that? They posted a new gaemplay not too long ago.

Racecarlock
Oh sure, when fuel is asked for, when prison on every single f*cking bust is asked for, when virtual diseases are asked for, those are all apparently fine. But apparently parkour isn't okay because it's "Not GTA's style" or it's "The art of running away". On the running away thing, using that logic we should delete the f*ckin' sprint function while we're at it. As for "Not GTA's style", what the f*ck IS gta's style? III was a new york based crime noir with an evil femme fatale, Vice City was a neon soaked 80s gunfest with missions that involved planes sprinkling porn posters over the city, San Andreas was what happens when you combine bad boys II with independence day and top gun and any movie with a jetpack in it, and IV was the tale of an immigrant and his fat cousin struggling to survive in a city where base jumping is the sport of choice and biker gangs run around blowing up police and dominican club owners help crazy arab businessmen steal subway trains to build theme restaurants.. The only consistent things are the political and corporate and pop culture parodies in the game. I don't see what parkour would take away from the game, and I see a lot that parkour could add to the game. goh13
If R* can pull it off, I am okay with it but every parkour using game mostly focuses on that aspect. I do not want GTA to do that. It also does not fit the "normal f*cked up guy protag" mode of GTA. Someone who knows parkour will most likely need a personality to go with it. Most GTA protags are tough guys who would not resort to hard thinking and using something like parkour. If R* can pull it off, it would still feel a bit forced down my throat. Just like fuel on cars is. Because half of the game you are running around or driving and god damn it, I want it to be normal GTA driving/walking! zainzombie
Yes please. I would love to have parkour in GTA V. It was one of the best things about sleeping dogs (along with its awesome combat system). i dont want it to be as detailed as Assassins creed but something like sleeping dogs would be good. I wouldnt mind if its not in though, but it would be a good addition if they do put it in. Plus, Its not just for running "away". You can chase guys on foot too. ALeSsAnDrO
Some form of parkour, less OTT than Assassin's Creed, would def add a whole new dimension and interactivity to GTA. Buildings would stop being just textured boxes and start being something useful. A game as beautiful as GTA deserves new ways of exploration. Well improved climbing obviously. If I want to be batman I've got arkham city, but luis and niko and johnny take way too long to get over some fences. Also, ladders aren't the only things people can climb. And doesn't the second trailer have rappelling in it? Like say you want to climb the outer edge of a fire escape. I don't see a problem with that. And you should be able to hang onto trucks in places outside of missions.
IcePwrd
Some people on this thread are dropkicks. How can you tell me how I want to play a SANDBOX game...so if I'm pinned down by 50 cops, your telling me I shouldn't try to escape? I should just sit there and wait for death? I don't want so much as parkour but just make the climbing better, it shouldn't take 4 years to climb a fence
DryJohnson45
GTA protags also are going to do f*cking yoga in GTAV. So why not parkour? It adds a lot to the on-foot chases. I've just said, Parkour is the art of running away from people. GTA protags do not run away from people, they shoot them to death. Parkour is for cowards and nobody wants to play a coward in GTA. You must've forgot Micheal is in the witness protection program right? Why can't play as cowards then if thats what you want to call them, I'm pretty sure you can't even do parkour. Parkour is acctally not even that much coward, it be fun for people who 1. Roleplayers 2. people Climb sh*t and wish damn I wish I didn't jump like a complete retard sometimes 3. To run from cops when roleplaying, online or offline (same as 1 but better descriptions)

I don't think it should be fully implemented, but I hope there's more freedom with the movement. I guess we'll see what R* does.
