From all this at least the only positive thing I can say is I'm glad these guys involved in the shootings tonight were the same guys from the Boston bombings the other day, I thought the whole world was going crazy when they were saying the two separate events weren't related earlier on the news stream..

Is it possible that there is no motive? That the two simply acted alone and out of boredom and misanthropy?

Seems highly unlikely. But not impossible.

I found it interesting that they're so young. Of course it's very much possible that two relatively young guys decided to do it, but their age could also possibly point to something much bigger being led by someone, I'd think, at least.

Wouldn't that larger organisation get them to be suicide bombers though? That's usually the case with coerced young people attempting acts of terror. These guys are trying to survive as long as they can, and inflict as much damage to law enforcement as possible.

Suicide bombers are people who have no real existence.

When someone travels to a foreign country it would be expected that they do more than the one single event.

Age? Look at the blood thirsty members of these forums. How old are they? And, they are willing to us Mob Rule to handle the 'suspects', without trial...

They are long past the stage of being suspects, they are the perpetrators who deserve nothing more than a death sentence carried out at the scene. As I said fair game.

That doesn't really help the situation at all. Sure you get the short term gain of revenge but then it makes it that much harder to discover whether they were attached to a larger terrorist cell and what their actual motives were.

Forensic reconstructions go a long way these days. But of course capturing him would be ideal.

I heard something in the press conference that was a bit, let's say iffy.

When they were talking about Boston being on lockdown they were saying they had additional intel. Could this mean intel on a bigger plot?

Anybody see "Enemy of the State"? Art and Reality...

It would be nice to see the FBI and involved police take someone alive, but, that isn't the history (policy?) of such things.

Pretty sure most federal manhunts result in a successful capture.

Odd you don't think? No Expressed Motive?

Cops killed, that means Cops will kill with no compassion.

There will be no prisoner to take to trial.

trouble is if they kill the last suspect no one may know the motive!

I wouldn't be shocked if the cops have searched the residence of the terrorist who died. And if they have, it's entirely possible that this man kept plans, manifestos and all other manner of things pertaining to why he did what he did.

Just because they're being quiet, doesn't mean they're sitting on their hands. They have a body, they have a name, so they can use that in a variety of ways to find out who he was, who he associated with and - most importantly - where he was living.

Boston Marathon then I guess it's just nothing, just something about all of this seems to indicate there was prior knowledge of it, the army men in black jackets and tan khaki's/combat boots,

Why can't you get this idea out of your head you ignorant tit?

I've been watching the news for a few hours. The news reader(s) keep saying the FBI has reviewed tape and have seen 'the man' leave a back pack and run away...

WHERE is this incriminating tape? WHY hasn't any TV medium shown it?

Or did I miss it?

And, No Dashboard Camera of the Chase, with the infernal devices being thrown shown?

You are aware that federal agencies don't tend to release evidence in active investigations that could potentially compromise leads, aren't you?

Civilian recorded footage of a firefight has been permitted to be broadcast on the major news networks.. Couldn't that be considered potentially compromising?

If the footage was released directly to the media, the FBI can't really do anything. If they released it, it would be purely because it wasn't directly pertinent to their line of enquiry.

I still don't see Islamist in this. Why desperation to escape with their lives?

OK WTF happened to Sunny? Now suspect #2 is "Dzhokhar A Tsarnaev."

It was probably never that Sunil guy to begin with. The terrorist has a much smaller nose. Similar features, but the nose is completely different.

Finn 7 five 11
Whoever that second guy he is evading thousands of trained police officers, fbi agents, national guard soldiers etc. That's incredible.. But not in a good way.

It is pretty cool actually, it's like a real life Grand Theft Auto, but honestly if you play it smart, i'm sure it's possible...for a time.

@El_Diablo, that's actually crazy, throwing explosives out of the car and getting riddled with bullets, f*cking hell.

Just watching BBC News now and the guy is on who had them bullets go through his house on that photo a few pages back (where it hit his calender). He said he was sat on that chair when he heard the shots and he went into his closet. Man, just imagine if he would of kept sitting there, he probably would be seriously injured or possibly dead.

What baffles me is that he is willing to murder random people in a marathon but when his own brother is killed, he just runs away.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the death of his brother to make an unstable, violent person more aggressive? His behaviour is very confusing, as is how he's been able to evade all these people.

Is it luck or the result of some prior training?

I don't think they're part of the Chechnyan terrorist movement - as their MO has always seemed to value hostage taking over these bombing and shooting tactics.

I'd have been f*cked, because one of the first things I'd do is either go peeking out of the window like a total dick or stay at my desk and tell someone that it has kicked off.

Just came through on the scanner, the police are chasing someone in the Black Hoodie, backup seems to be being sent.

no I mean.

it's happening RIGHT NOW.

lol.

one of them is dead already.

I think this actually happened last night. Of course, the Boston area seems to be on lockdown, or at least the two towns where they believe he might be at. Mass transit within the city of Boston is shut down, and there are no classes for the day at most schools.

What motive? Chechen terrorists are the same terrorists as Al-Qaeda. Their leaders are in the US list of most wanted criminals.

Oh, you thought that those bad Russians oppressed poor Chechens and they are fighters for freedom. What a twist. Say thanks to your propaganda

Chechen terrorists are not Chechens. They are terrorists with tight connections to many terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda.

Besides, the same Chechen terrorists are fighting on the side of "rebels" in Syria, together with veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

I still think this is a distraction of some sort. I know Raavi agrees with me.

But for what? And if it IS a distraction, what's taking the mastermind of the plan so long to unveil his bigger attack? Surely, if it was a distraction - every moment that passes shortens the window of opportunity to take advantage of all the attention on Watertown?

Police scanner implies they are in pursuit of the suspect.

E: They are definitely chasing someone, they're not sure if its him though.

The distraction could be to prepare a attack not necessarily execute it today.

I just checked if he was on Facebook (I don't know, it was worth a try lol, modern world and all that) and I found a couple pages, I found a guy with a picture that looks a lot like him with Uzi in his hand and a cigarette, haven't seen that photo around the news, so I don't know how legit that is. And also another profile, the picture is that photo with the blue background, made like 30 minutes ago saying "it was the us government that did it, illuminati bla bla bla" 99% that's fake. biggrin.gif
